You remember me asking for help about by shyness in class? Well: solving is in process... I call it, the "I/I" paradigm Here is how I've applied it to my shyness problem. Believed facts: I can't participate in class because I'm not a native english speaker. My english is not good and I have an accent (french one). People will mock me up when I talk, because I'm a foreigner... Application of "I/I" paradigm: I'm treating myself as a foreigner, nobody cares. They are there to learn something from the professor (most First steps to solution: Don't think that I'm a foreigner, make myself confortable in class, think of people as friends I've just made today Thanks a lot Steve, I think I owe you a lot Last words. I'm still exploring the application of the "I/I" paradigm in other situations. Last edited by nvictor; 02-09-2007 at 12:50 AM. |
