Most of my problems coming from loosing sence of consciousness and drifting away in talking, eating, laziness, procrastination and so on. My progress now is have post it's and marking any driffted away step off, then in the end of day I make calcualation, mostly I have around 5 violations per day. What are you doing to stay conscious?

You're doing well, I have several violations just while sitting and studying. Try doing something called mental monitoring, in which you are mainly focusing on reality (ie the book in front of you) and you periodically "watch" your mind to make sure it's on track. Eventually, your watchman will occur pretty automatically and he won't be so intrusive. Whenever you're off track, make a mark on a piece of paper beside you and get back to work. You can make a game of seeing how few marks you get. Of course, there is also having the right environment for you to focus. Although you must be conscious in all of your endeavours whether they're social or public, you have great control over your study environment at home. You can eliminate all distractions and sounds that send you off thinking about other things. Also, I recommend some kind of list-making such as Getting Things Done if you worry about tasks you'll have to do in the future. Get them out of your memory so they stop popping up, and just write them onto a pad immediately and go back to your task. |

Whenever you regain present moment awareness, direct your focus to your breathing. Spend 1 minute focusing on your breathing. This will anchor your awareness into the present moment so that you can consciously direct your focus on whatever you want. At this point, set your purpose. For example, once you've regained present moment awareness, you could set the purpose/intention to listen to person B carefully, or find the answer to a differential equation, or to brush your teeth carefully. I recommend reading: The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Last edited by Amro; 10-26-2009 at 05:06 AM. |

Thank you for advises, I am going to set mental monitoring and learn how to stay focused only over one thing and try breathing technics. My environment is very unorganized, I have people coming to my office every 5-10 minutes, asking different things, mails pop up as pop corn, also phone calls on mobile and office phone, then I have to concentrate over completely opposite and non related things, like one minute I am thinking over letter to land lord on contract prolongation, next moment I have to reply on requirements of storage goods in warehouse and so on, I tried to stick to one thing untill it get completed, but other's a thinking that I am just trying to get rid of them, so my question would be, how to stay consious and quickly switch between tasks?

One can be in focus without having to concentrate very hard on a specific thing. I think focus or awareness is the key, and concentration can be good but is not always good. For example, meditating on just a single meaningless word does not give you any clue about reality so that is not awareness, even though it is concentration. | |

People are way more unconscious then you realize.. what am I doing to stay conscious?? I'm seeing out my eyes.. I'm connected to my Pineal Gland You can connect to that if you want.. it's fairly simple.. the real question is.. why would you want to? If you don't feel happy, excited, content, enamored in your life.. then you should make a shift to those ideas.. then I think seeing out your eyes.. being in pineal would help a lot.. otherwise you're like everyone else drifting all the time |
