Default Looking for a life coach

I've been procrastinating (probably my most popular past-time) putting this post up for various reasons, but I finally decided to take the plunge.

I am in the process of looking for a coach and am looking for recommendations.

A bit about why I;m looking for a coach may help. I find myself very unfocused. I know I'm not doing what I want to be doing and I have, depending on the area, vague to fairly solid ideas of what I want to be doing and some idea of how to get there. However, I don't seem to be making any progress. I have been complaining and performing minor attempts at getting to where I want to be for the last year give or take, and yet I am no closer to achieving anything on my list. In fact in some areas I am further behind than I was 12 months ago.

I seem to have a lot of ideas, but a severe lack of follow through. Partly caused by a lack of focus, in that I never dedicate enough time to an idea to see it to completion.

The other thing is I would really like to have e-mail/IM support as well as telephone coaching.

If any of you have any advice/recommendations I would really like to hear them.

Thanks

Do you want to meet your coach (often)? Then it's handy to look in your neighborhood.

Many coaches offer a first sesion free or low-price, to see if you and the coach match.

I can personally vouch for Angela (from these forums), for breakthrough sessions that will help you see where you're stuck. I know she has honed her craft since I worked with her; I'm not sure if she would say that what she does is coaching - but boy, it helped me!!

I am working with a life coach here. Working with her has really helped me clarify my vision, and how to implement it - AND take those steps to implement it! I can see her "live", but I know she does phone coaching around the world.

Christine Kane offers a type of coaching as well. I've attended retreats with her - she's VERY helpful in helping you find your own vision for your life.

I offer time management coaching. Creating solid, actionable plans for your projects and systems to manage your time might go a long way to manifesting the focus you are looking for. I do offer email support between telephone coaching sessions, as well as providing clients with a shared Google Docs that we use to track their projects and actions.

Check out my website for info and drop me a note if you are interested.

All the best,
Thekla
