Default MBTI/Enneagram type?

i don't know the best category for this thread, i hope it is ok here since habits, problem-solving, decision-making, etc. are part of our type.

i was wondering if you would be willing to share your Myers-Briggs Type and/or your Enneagram Type, and i'd also like to open up this thread for us to talk about how valid we think these tests are, in reflecting personality (MBTI) and/or essential type (enneagram). if you don't know your type, there is a free quiz that tells you both available here: Free Jung + Enneagram Personality Test
(i have taken this quiz, and the results mirrored the results i've gotten on several quizzes, so i think it is reasonably accurate.)

feel free to also discuss the ways you feel either boosted or somehow hindered by the effects of your type (example: those who prefer Perceiving to Judging often avoid making commitments in case new information would suggest a different course of action), or anything else related to this topic.

my MBTI type: INFP (used to be INTP)
enneagram type: 5 with a 4 wing.

I've taken the official MBTI test 3 times and always come out as ENFP.

I did the Enneagram test from a book. I came out as a 6 with a strong 7 wing.

I didn't recognise myself in the profile of 6 (but apparently 6's are the most likely to disagree with their Enneagram profile ). I personally don't think I am as paranoid and suspicious as the profile made out. However when I read the descriptions of how a 6 is formed, compared to the other profiles - that was the one that resonated the strongest.

Does that help?

Myer Brigg I'm INFP. I've done the Ennagram a few times, and can't remember which one I am, but found that one a little bit less useful, when I've got free time I'll take the test again.

The Enneagram leaves me with a sense of meh. Questions like

83) I am often extremely sad.
68) I am very wounded at the core.
86) My life is defined by loneliness.
98) I am always worried about something

can be applied to anybody with any behavior style so what makes them so important with regards to behavior? And these are just the random few I grabbed while taking the test.

So my type chart is:

7 26 I must be high and entertained to be happy.
8 21 I must be strong and in control to be happy.
9 18 I must be peaceful and easy to get along with to be happy.
3 15 I must be impressive and attractive to be happy.
2 14 I must be helpful and caring to be happy.

Apparently I must be doped up while being entertained to be happy

Has anyone else here taken the DISC behavior assesment test? How does it stack up with these?

ENTP

I think most people that actually are interested in Personal Growth are an NP type.

I definitely think there is some truth behind the MBTI. It's cool to know why people in your life act a certain way and just to UNDERSTAND them better.

INTJ and Type 3 with a 4 wing.

I didn't get much out of the Myers-Briggs profile.

However I really like the Enneagram, as described by Riso / Hudson and Helen Palmer. There is a big variety in the quality from different presenters of the Enneagram. I have found it invaluable as a tool for self-awareness.

When something in life isn't working and I get frustrated because I don't know why, by re-reading the Enneagram I usually understand something new about myself that empowers me to make different decisions and so get different results.

I get more out of it each time I do this. It is something to work with rather than just read once.
