I know about NLP but I don't know how to use it or really even how to get started. What are the books that I should pick up, websites that I should visit and CDs / videos that I should watch to get started?

| NLP for Dummies is a great place to start, and even better would be booking an in-person session with a practitioner -- it's really fun to work with a person who is totally committed to you getting the results you want, and at the same time is "teaching you to fish" -- learning how to use the techniques by applying them to the actual results you want. And you could look at my blog, of course |

I haven't studied NLP seriously, but I think it's logical to read Richard Bandler's books first. All the rest of NLP is based on these. They are really great books.

I'm personally not a fan of the 'for dummies' series... partially based off my understanding of hypnosis and NLP. There are good books out there, but it is very difficult to get a basic understanding of NLP from a book. The best option is to experience it 'live'... at a training or a one-on-one session... but that may not be an easy option for you. One of my favorite NLP trainers is Jamie Smart. You can view his materials (and lots of free information) at: SaladLtd.co.uk & MyNLPResources.wordpress.com If you do decide to start with a book, I recommend Richard Bandler's Get The Life You Want. It's simple, straightforward, and powerful. And Bandler is one of the co-founders of NLP. Richard Bandler also has a wide variety of video and audio products available, but they tend to be a bit expensive... Learning NLP has been challenging and a lot of fun for me... You'll get it much quicker if you're having a blast while you're doing it. I also use concepts of NLP on my own blogs (though they aren't designed to teach the basics of NLP)... just click on either link in the signature. Enjoy! keep smiling, Ben |

You can always start with a google search including your city name (or nearby city) Something like "Denver NLP" or "Denver Neuro Linguistic Programming" You can also search the phone book (or internet) under "hypnosis"... a lot of NLP practitioners just list their services under "hypnosis", "counseling", "coaching", etc... as more people are familiar with these terms. Happy Hunting Ben |
