I remember my biology book stated “Electrons, like all matter, tend to exist in the lowest available state of potential energy.” For me It felt like whatever tasks I intended to do, my available state of potential energy was just enough to complete my tasks. As I increased my tasks and responsibilities my available state of potential energy increased. As my lifestyle changed I remember thinking it felt impossible and I needed more time to accomplish all my studies and duties but I’m there, accomplishing more than I had ever imagined. There is definitely an uncomfortable time when moving to a higher energy level, it only lasts for a short time and that time period and intensity of discomfort seems to decrease with each movement to the next higher energy level. However when I was in that first transitional state it felt nearly impossible. I always wanted to accomplish great things, I knew what it would take and knew how long it would take, I believe I had the desire. For me I feel that the state of energy I was operating in was limiting me. It took a massive change in my life to break me out of that first shell of potential energy...that or maybe it was the coffee. |

Nuge, I feel the same way! When I don't have much to do, I tend to lack energy. Once I reach critical mass of projects, I feel great. Too many, though, and I get burned out. As I wrote in the thread below on making life exciting, I'm the queen of starting projects: A writers' group with 40 members, a moms & dads group with 25 members, and an animal welfare organization with 1,000 volunteers. I also freelance full-time, have a newly adopted baby, have a teenaged exchange student, develop and teach online courses, and entertain often. People wonder how I do it all, but I wonder how they DON'T do it all. The more I do, the more energized I feel. Of course, there could be an issue of piling on activities so you don't have time to feel lonely, anxious, etc. or to be alone with scary thoughts. FW |
