| Would you mind recommending the greatest books about bouncing back from adversity and going on to succeed? How to pick yourself up after having gotten knocked down really bad. Books in print, ebooks, websites...whatever format you found value in....whatever classics in this sub-genre. Thanks so much in advance! |

| Thank you Dimond. I know Wayne has several books. Are you referring to one that is more like a memoir or is it an early book? Do you recall the title? Or are you referring his whole body of work?

Hi 172, One suggestion I have.. I found going directly to the library is good, because it gives you time to look the books over, and to see if it makes sense and contains the answers that you're looking for. They usually have their own sections for self help and development, in fact I discovered that there are several sections for them - one is located in the self development/new age section, (memory, self esteem, learning etc,). The other is located in the "Health" section, and tend to be written by professionals in the field. I have tended to like the books written by professions as long as they're easy to read, and written in a simple step-by step manner . Especially the ones with real life examples, or if written by professionals, client and case examples, because then you have examples of the advice or method actually affecting the lives of real people, like ourselves, they seem very practical and useful.. I hope this helps, as well.... Last edited by nightdiamond; 09-07-2009 at 07:45 AM. |

Conversations With God Book 1 by Neale Donald Walsch. I've had a "shift" year myself and the wisdom in this book really helped to widen my perspective of what was happening in my life. Tell your friend "Good luck" from me. Cheers, Craig |

The best book to read is the classic think and grow rich. I have read this book too many times to remember and it always inspires and motivates me. Another great book is As a Man Thinketh by James Allen this is one of the greatest personal development book's ever and should do the trick.

Wow. Thank you everyone for these suggestions. I actually have As A Man Thinketh, Think and Grow Rich, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind and Conversations with God Books 1 and 2. I love that you have an mp3 of James Allen available Gene, thanks for that! Thank you also for recommending Steve's book, Tony Robbins and the library as well. I will pass these recommendations along. |

All of Wayne Dyer's books are great. Probably good to start with some of his earlier ones. Watching him on PBS or video is also good or audio. This is one of my most favorite books ever. All the other suggestions are good too. There's so much inspiration available. It's fun to spend time at the library or bookstore to figure out which ones to try. |
