Hey, I've noticed that when I get up earlier (before 9 AM for me), my wakefulness time seems to last much longer than when I wake and get up after that time (the wakefulness time can have same length in both cases). Does everyone else experience this, and can someone tell me more about that (causes, etc.)? I hope you understand what I've wanted to say. |

Rhythms are really important for the way our body works. If you just sleep at a different time your rhythms aren't at sync.

Regarding the rhythms, I was just reading some articles on wikipedia about that. Circadian, Ultradian, Infradian and other chronobiologic rhythms. I find this very interesting; I even feel compelled to find some book on that topic and learn more. Ultradian rhythms are very interesting, and if you discover their frequency, you can make good use of them - Ultradian Rhythms & the 20-minute Break | 43 Folders . But I still haven't found a theory that gives me a good description of why this happens. It's really crazy. One day I wake up early, and even if I stay awake for the same length of time like when I get up very late, the whole time of my wakefulness seems to be much longer, and as a result, I'm much more productive.

I'm not sure what causes it, but I have the same results. If I get up early, my day seems longer. When I get up late, it seems way shorter. It could be that I'm conditioned to the clock, so I think 6pm is the end of the day, whether I wake up at 7am, like today, or at 4pm. It's the difference between 11 hours and 2 hours. I'm guessing all of it is learned as we grow up. We all have differing thoughts and beliefs that affect how we live in the world. Perhaps they are the source of your experience with time? |
