Default Zen and concentration on each task

MODS: If you feel this should be placed the Spirituality section, please move it.

I recently began reading "Zen 24/7" and I've been a fan of "Zen Habits". I think I've found in both places an emphasis on concentrating in the current task fully. A post in Raptitude (I think it was there, I can't find it now) talked about using this idea to craft rituals. By granting daily chores your undivided attention, you can turn them into something meaningful.

All these concepts interest me greatly. However, I did not find much reference to this in the Wikipedia article, and it did say that books such as "Zen in the Art of Archery" which promote this points are actually a western, altered interpretation of Zen.

My question is twofold. First of all, what books or materials can I read on concentrating on the current task and focusing completely? On the other hand, if anyone here is familiar with traditional Zen, is this concept important or not?

zen is simple. Don't make it a big thing. You do not need to read any book other than this post alone, if that is enough for your understanding. And if this doesn't do, any one little zen story, that you can find all over the net or bookstore, could do it.

zen has nothing to do with concentrating, or focusing, especially the Western definition of those terms.

That concept, was important just as much as your typical fake religious place of worship or the book/movie "The Secret" has. Not important at all, but at the same time very important, for it gave you the motivation to ask the question, and possibly, depending on your level of desire, the possibility to realize the inexplicable, the miraculous.
