There are many books on goal setting but the ones that I think are exceptional are: Getting Things Done by David Allen (productivity/goal setting) Goals by Brian Tracy (Goal setting) Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy (productivity/goal setting) |

Yeah I would second both Goals- by Brian Tracy (get the audio version. It is read by the authour) and Paul McKenna's Change Your Life in 7 Days However with goal setting don't spend too much time worrying about the future. In fact buy the book "The Power of Now by Echart Tolle" to read why "escaping from the now" is not very resourceful and can hamper your future goals. So by all means have goals and ideals, but do not reject the notion of menial goals either. Remember the saying. "Small ordinary goals, performed over time with consistency can produce extraordinary results. And as a warning too- goals have to be your own. Goals are not what your parents think you should've or should achieve, what your teachers say you should achieve, or what your bosses think- they should be congruent with your own wants and desires- no matter how big or small they may be. I was told (mislead) by my parents who said "Oh you need to get a good job" you need to progress fast, you need to do this, do that". Not only did my life not turn out bad listening to this advice it also got me nowhere. When I stopped trying so hard. Started listening to other more confident, more re-assuring people, by ditching the heavy burden of "future goals"- ironically my life has turned out Emotionally, Spiritually, Healthy and FINANCIALLY better than ever before. The path I'm on, may lead to these so called future goals (Millionaire Lifestyle, Entrprenuership etc). However from giving off "non-needy" vibes about wanting to progress in any area of my life and showing that I am commited by taking "baby steps" first- I have attracted others to my cause who have helped. But go around an egotistical monster, who has no grip on the reality and feedback you may come against in persuing those goals and you may end up no-where |

Goals by Brian Tracy is a sort of encyclopedia of very many goal setting books. I highly recommend it. Also, if you really want to make it, and change your life, and work towards your goals, please read Master Key to Riches, Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude, and Think and Grow Rich. Those books will literally change your life. |

T: Timeline A: Action Plan R: Resources (money, human etc..) E: Execution, is Key to achieving any goal C: Celebration First start small and achieve victory, celebrate and then set bigger goals. When I started doing exercise, I started with lifting only 60lbs and in 7 months, I am lifting 150 lbs and I am still continuing... My strategy: very simple. Exercise four days per week. First week do two sets of 10 reps each. Second week increase reps to 15 same weight and two sets. Third week, increase weights by 10 lbs and reduce to 10. Repeat this for every other week. After several months, I changed the strategy slightly. Instead of two week plan, I created three week plan with 10, 12 and 15 reps. Increase weight every three weeks. Hope this helps. | |

Required reading: The Power of Your Subconscious Mind - Joseph Murphy Before setting short-term goals, I find it important to have a long-term life goal: Life on Purpose: Six Passages to an Inspired Life. For practical stuff: Anthony Robbins and Paul Mckenna is good too. Good luck! |
