Just read about Photoreading and its definitely a skill i want to learn Right now i read about one or two books a month, i underline and highlight the most important parts, and the parts that stands out most for me. I feel like underlining, highlighting and taking notes is important for learning and integrating the knowledge and distinctions. Is underlining, highlighting and taking notes compatible with Photoreading? I mean, if you read a 250 pages book in one hour, do you take notes afterwards, do you have time to highlight, etc, etc. How do you go about remembering the stuff you learn? anyone? |

If you photoread a book and (Let's pretend they are right) have a 70% retention rate of what you just read, wouldn't you be able to highlight the best things to highlight easier? As far as remembering, that's a part of the photoreading system isn't it?

There is an element of notetaking in photoreading, primarily mindmaps. Now you may have a better experience of it than I did, but I would advise you not to invest too many of your resources into it. Get the book from a library, and if you learn anything from it perhaps it shall be that SQ3R and not buying the course are much more viable and realistic alternatives. Photoreading is basically that SQ3R, and mindmapping put together with a lot of new-age fluff. The only good thing I learnt from it bar a good lesson, was to teach myself to see stereographs. |
