| Also a Basecamp user. It is awesome.

| Basecamp helps when several people communicate on a project, but has a completely different paradigm from the standard 'project management' app. And it is very unsuitable for a single person planning a project. Btw, I am finishing a lightweight project management app, very useful for a single person or a small team. Here is a screen shot: FusionDesk5 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! |

| Basecamp here too. Although I may give one call Zoho a try also. |

| For todo-list stuff I have gone through different phases. I started with MLO (my life organized). Then I found toDoList which is way better in every aspect (see my review here: academic productivity » Download: toDoList (Windows)) Then I realized that I have plenty of hard deadline tasks, and that I really needed a calendar integrated. For that, the best tool I found is agenda at once: academic productivity » Programs: Agenda at once Hope this helps... |

| I am using my own program called Swift To-Do List. I've made it for myself in the first place, but it was popular so I kept improving it. I think that I could arrange a discount for forum visitors, feel free to PM me. It's just very easy to use and can hold a lot of tasks, inbuilt reminders, etc. See my signature if you want to check it out.

| For Gantt charts, there's GanttProject on sourceforge, written in Java. It does pretty well for planning most moderately complex projects. There's Omniplan by the Omni group (The Omni Group) for $125, and, while I haven't used it, I've used other Omni group programs and they have the best-polished programs on earth (OmniGraffle and OmniOutliner are best-in-class for polish).
