Default No home and lots of trouble

I'm a university student at an elite university but from a poor family background. I achieved a lot in my life, and consider myself pretty successful.
However, I had an accident ca. a year ago which set me back in many areas of my life, the most important of which in grades. Although I'm a good student, I couldn't take all exams due to chronic pain and other occasional troubles related to the accident. So I have to repeat one year (the final one before graduating).

All this time I have been sustaining my studies entirely through scholarships, but since I didn't take all exams of the final year I don't have enough money to go on.

My plan was to apply for a loan, but that requires having done a specific number of exams, which I am preparing for this September. Meanwhile however, I have to leave home by end of July and have no place to go (can't return to my parents' home due to some bureaucratic issues).

Some friends offered their place over summer holidays but then withdrew for several practical reasons (some of which sounded like excuses).

I would appreciate any ideas

I would suggest couchsurfing.com not 100% it's a match.. other than that maybe a forum member can help yah out.. you can use LOA but maybe you consider that impractical for the purpose..

you say your from a poor family background that doesn't mean you have to truly live the same lifestyle as they did. Also if your parents really want to see you succeed they will let you stay there. With your friends making excuses talk to them again and find out the real reason instead of taking no for an answer. Talk with them until they give a real answer more so until they cannot say no. Taking no for an answer is not an option.

Get a van, paint a company name on the side of it, get a mattress, bam.

This is entirely due to bureaucratic reasons. It's related to the fact that I have more than a nationality and currently my passport is being renewed, I'm studying abroad and I cannot legally go to the country where my parents are currently residing.

But yeah, I'm trying to contact my friends.

They're not even answering the phone...

talk to the dean at the university. There has to be a way for you to continue there i'm sure you are not the first person that had to go through this.

Maybe it'd do some good, to take moment, to spend a little energy visualizing what kind of friends you actually want in your life.

And maybe it'd do some good to start making a ton of new ones, connecting to as many random new people as possible, telling them your situation in a conscious way and asking for advice and alternative solutions.

Connect with the right people.

a similar thing happened to me my third year.
i ended up homeless and the school was a pretty prestigious art school, most of the other students came from wealthy families so i felt i couldn't ask the school for help. when i wasn't couch surfing i began staying in the school's student lounge or studios (we had all night access) or sneaking into my friends dorm rooms....after like two months of that the school caught on and eventually gave me my own dorm room for the rest of the year!

they were annoyed but still willing to help, i simply told them i didn't feel i could approach anyone regarding the issue and they weren't willing to loose an otherwise good student.

anyways, my point is you never know how the school will take it. good luck!

I hope everything's working out for you Kean.

I am just about to find myself in a similar situation to you but my situation differs in that I'll be "homeless" by choice in about two and a half weeks.

"Trust the Universe" sounds lame and may not give you a dry bed to sleep in, but maybe, just maybe you're about to experience something pure and positive from all this. Watch for the signs the Universe is giving you and seize any opportunities.

Good luck.
