If there is one thing that would help you out the most I'd say it is purpose. If you can find your central theme it'll help you identify the areas you should improve in. | |

I have a great remedy for being in a real rut. Begin by doing one thing differently every day for a month. Take a different route to work/school. Call someone you don’t call that often and invite them out for coffee. Buy a different newspaper to what you normally buy, change your usual magazine while your at it. Drop a few coins into a charity box. Do a good deed for someone or a favour. It’s the small things, the small details that make all the difference. Take it one day at a time, and don’t talk about doing it just do it. If we stop and go through it all in our mind or make lists of things to do, by the time we’re done we are often too exhausted to actually do anything. Best wishes.

The system to making changes in your life is pretty straightforward. I modified the method I explained in my blog post on my site to work for you. You can read the original post here: The Secret of Extreme Goal Achievement 1. Choose what you'd like to improve. You mentioned socializing and making more money. So, you can choose one of them and make that your focus for 30 days. 2. After choosing a focus, think about how you want to improve. For example, if you decided to raise your income, how would you want to go about doing that? Do you want to provide value to people (e.g., start a blog), do you want to provide a service (e.g., give piano lessons), do you want to go the standard route (e.g., get a second job)? For now, brainstorm everything that might work best for you. 3. Go back through your brainstormed list of improvements and pick the the top one or two ideas that resonate with you the most. 4. Start implementing that #1 idea! If you feel overwhelmed by life, break it down into smaller, bite-sized pieces. Travel through life one step at a time. You don't have to achieve all your goals at once - chip at them bit by bit. Eventually your outer reality will reflect how you're truly feeling and thinking; you'll get what you want. |

Good advice so far. I was in the same spot and although I'm not where I want to be yet, I'm getting there slowly but surely. One of my methods is to do at least one activity a month that is outside of my "comfort zone". One month was a Superbowl party, one was volunteering at a charity running event, one was saying hi to as many people as possible at the gym one day, all small things but it made me socialize more for a short period of time. July will be a trip out of state and getting together with a friend from the past. The more I do it, the more often I add additional things that I wasn't doing a year ago. Not much but maybe it'll help you too |

Hey Ultimate....I was at your same position some years ago but one thing changed me...It is the decision to change my present condition....as I can see myself from your words...I think I can give some tips to you for I am living a very good life now... Seem to be that there are a lot of areas that you need to show improvement...Choose the important ones first...and burn up to feed that goal or need....I did the same by choosing which area to improve and I choose my attitude for it was too bad...I changed it by 1. meditating 2. smile at 5 strangers daily 3. give away some money to charity( It returned to me double and triple the sum) 4. love my family members 5. holding to my decision to change fueled by persistence Wish you the best Ultimate...I hope I can hear some good news from you...All the best for your life to get better.... -Michael Dan |
