Recently, I've been thinking over all of my past goals. Basically, I've been trying to develop a goal into a passion of doing what i love and care about. But after lots of tries and getting only a little bit of consistency, I forget my goal and am not able to generate the same enthusiasm, energy as I was at the very start of dreaming to achieve my goal. Things holding me back: 1) when I get the energy, burst of enthusiasm and excitement I start to do my goal but basically after a few weeks or months I lose the momentum and I get bored, and am dismayed by the little results I produce. Therefore, I unconsciously abandon my goal and halt all efforts to achieve it. 2) I'm always shifting to different goals after not getting the results from putting effort to each goal (interest/passion). My questions are: 1) How do I find my passion? How do I keep the surge of enthusiasm and energy into doing something I love? 2) What are advices you can give so that I can stick with my goal or my passion in order to fulfill it? My goal: 1) Making money in what I love to do or that I am greatly interested to do (long-term enthusiasm and committment) Can you refer me any steve pavlina or any blog about passion and making money? Thanks - Rev |

Finding your ultimate PURPOSE is really what you should be after here, which will ultimately lead you in the direction of having more passion, energy and staying power as you progress down your journey. All humans need a sense of purpose to guide them...unfortunately too many of us make our purpose based on someone else's (spouse, boss in a job, friends, etc...) and then wonder at why we are not fulfilled. Let's dig in a little deeper. How do you find your purpose? That takes some effort, but it is well worthwhile. One technique is to inventory the past situations and achievements in your life you feel MOST proud and happy about. What were you doing? What impact were you having on those around you? For example, some of the best times in my life involve teaching - teaching people to write, to build a business, to learn to play the guitar, to play a sport...I get the MOST fulfillment and happiness out of adding value to other people. So, I make sure that both my business and as much of my personal time is constructed around 1) Learning myself so that I can teach and 2) Adding value to people's lives through teaching. How did I come up with this? It took a few hours to really see the pattern in activities I've enjoyed the most in the past 20-years - through an inventory...now, 8-years later, my life is incredibly more rich in both a financial sense, but also in a fulfillment, health and happiness sense as well.
