One of the best pieces of advice I've found recently to get out of a rut is this. "Every day, do three things that move you toward your goals." of course, if you aren't sure what your goals are, then this advice can still be useful. All that'll happen is that the three things you do will be to define your goals better. I know Steve has some useful advice on his site about goal setting and finding your passion, so one of your three things to start could be to find those posts and do the activities. Just reading the posts doesn't help all that much. Ideally, you'd need to find a way to combine the 3 areas. an example would be if photography (one of my passions) is the passion you'd want to follow, you could join a photography club (social) and start taking photo's for microstock sites (income). There are many combinations here, that was just used as an example. |

I read this article the other day which may help; 3 Ways to Get More Done With the Power of Less. I've started using these techniques and am finding they really help with reducing overwhelm, getting focussed and keeping motivated.

Each day do a little more than you did the day before. But here's more detail Do what you enjoy doing and figure out a way you could get paid to do it. Also if you are at a crappy job the time when you are not there be working on making your passion become true. With your social life surround yourself with those who will better you and have the same goals and etc. |
