Is writing for a living an attainable goal?

If writing is your thing, I highly suggest starting with Site Build It. After you learn all of the technical stuff, the motto is basically "keep writing content (the right content) and your business will grow."

In fact, I think SBI should warn people that the process of making money that it teaches is writing intensive.

Just this morning I chose a content writer off of elance to write 30 articles for my website, because I realized it is too much work to do it myself.


But... I don't think the freelance writer on elance realizes that I'm paying him $6 for an article that will ultimately make me $100's of dollars over time.

On the one hand, I think it's a little sleezy for you to take advantage of someone like that.

On the other hand, it's the elance writer's fault they he/she doesn't realize what a good rate for freelance writing is. I wouldn't do any article for any less than 10 cents a word (and that's actually a BAD rate in the freelance world).

But I would also tell you that you get what you pay for. You pay someone $6 for an article, you are going to get a $6 article in return that probably doesn't offer much value.

I'm sorry-freelance rates are HORRIBLE on the sites I go to most of the time, due to people like you with piss poor budgets and dudes in India lapping it up.
