Default Discover the trick that I used to achieve my goals

Do you guys set goals but only failed to achieve them?

I believe most of us are like this but why is it people are not being able to follow through their action plan and achieve their goals? I believe someone who is able to achieve their goals consistently will definitely be much more well off than someone who fails to achieve their goals consistently.

If you are really frustrated about not achieving your goals, I highly recommend you to use one technique that can help you to increase your motivation and hence increasing the chances of you following through your action plan and achieving your goals.

Here are the steps:
1. Find an accountability partner
2. Set goals together. (maximum 3, minimum 1.)
3. Set deadline. (Try to keep the date close. A month time will be good.)
4. Agree on punishment and rewards.
5. Start taking action.

Having an accountability partner will help you to be accountable for your action. By making introducing punishment and rewards into it will help to make it seems like a game. This will make achieving your goals much more interesting and the chances of you following through will be much higher.

I hope you can make use of this technique and start achieving your goals now.

To your success,
Vincent

A tip I have used and later found in 4 hour work week is setting unrealistic goals. Unrealistic goals are more likely to be accomplished than realistic goals. This is because with an unrealistic goal you must start right away and there is no room for procrastination, it will also center your focus on one goal removing distraction.

I use similar technique to achieve goals. I put a message on my 'about me' page on my site for everyone to see.

I have many subscribers so I know that they will see that, and then I cross it out when I achieve it. When I know that hundreds of people will read my goals that keeps me really motivated to achieve them!!!

I also write my goals down on weekly basis (yearly goals) for my unconscious mind to pick up on and act on.

And of course I visualise because that fuels my passion and inspires me to take the right action.

True... as long as you don't push yourself too far. Because if you do, then the goal becomes simply impossible to achieve (at least given the set deadline)

I like to put it this way:

"Set goals which seem realistic to you, yet seem completely ludicrous to the people around you"

Hi Hugo,

I believe you can approach people in this forum or maybe your close friends. As long as both of you can keep in regular contact, that will be fine.

Yeah it seems like a good idea... gotta try it. In last 2 years I have learned a lot about personal development and psychology, but what is knowledge if you don't act...

I want to be somebody's accountability partner / PD coach / psychologist / anonymous friend PM me for contact info.
