i'm just wondering what you think your top 5 most important skills in life are, for example organization or attitude, and if you have any books or resources that helped you develop these skills that would be appreciated too.

I believe that being truly able to communicate with and understand yourself is by far the most important skill anyone can have. After that I would really say it depends on the person and what they want. For me the second most important thing would be being able to effectively connect with other people. It's something I'm working on. The third skill would probably be expressing myself creatively through music. I don't know, there are lots of useful skills in life. Those are just the three that came to mind to me when I saw this topic. |

1) Finding what your passion is otherwise, you will feel like you're living life with no purpose 2) Social skills. Networks can get you anywhere and everywhere. 3) Hard working. Procrastination is what makes a lot of us fail imo 4) Attitude: If you've got a crappy attitude about life, you'll be narrowminded and won't see the opportunities that are laid out for you 5) Good wit: This isn't actually a skill but some people just have good wit or gut feeling that gets them far |

1) Ability to self observe - developing this skill is invaluable...so much frustration can be experienced in life when you are not aware of how to really see the actions and behaviours / beliefs that are causing the pain you experience, once you begin to learn this skill even if you come up against a new problem you know you have identified and overcome problems before and so you have the courage to repeat, rather than become overwhelmed with the negative emotions. 2) Communication - humans need contact with other humans...developing communication skills can only have positive effects both for yourself and those around you. 3) Developing Purpose - Personally I cannot say I have found my ultimate purpose but I do try to vision myself being able to fully direct all my energy into something filled with passion and that visualisation alone is very powerful in a positive way, I am on the path to this and in other areas of my life I certainly have purpose at it is extremely powerful to realise this. 4) Motivation + Persistance - when you can stick at something and look back on each day and see that you made progress towards any goal you have set yourself whether small or large it is an amazing feeling and has the side effect of getting everything done! 5) Ability to give and receive value - Now this is something I believe so many people don't realise the importance of, I can say I didn't really grasp this until recently...more specifically since joining this site, so often my thoughts were "how can I get more money" or "how can I feel better" when I looked around and saw wealthy individuals for example I would ask "I wonder how they got so much money etc.." really I should have been asking " I wonder what they are doing that creates enough value for the wealth they are receiving", this is an amazing shift in mindset for me personally! |

1: Think freely (Think what you want) 2: Act freely (Do what you want) 3: Respect (Do unto others as you'd have others do unto you) 4: Live now, not in the future or the past. 5: Be happy, don't worry. (cause if you worry you make it double! =) No books or audio sessions can really explain this because its just so damn simple. Value freedom, respect each other even if you hate a person and what he stands for, respect him. You don't have to care about him. Pondering on the past will make you depressed and sprouts angst. Even happy memories can make you sad because you long for that time again. Planning the future will make you forget where you are now, and you'll miss out on so much stuff because you're busy planning what will happen next year, or in 10years. And then you'll get upset because things didn't go as planned. Live for the moment. It just breeds happiness. And finally, as sung by Bobby McFerrin; "In every life we have some trouble, if you worry you make it double. Don't worry, be happy!" Money and time are only a few glitches in todays modern society which I hope will be abolished in a few hundred years. There is a better way, but people are too immature for it to work right now.

1) communication skills - with yourself and with others: honesty is key. 2) social skills - look at things from the point of view of others, respect them, accept them 3) give value - contribute to the lives of others and your own life 4) receive value - because you're worth it! 5) creative perseverance - whatever your problem is, keep trying alternatives until you've solved it. Problems are challenges for you to grow. And (as I keep telling myself too) whatever level you have in these skills, there's always room for improvement! |
