| Hello everyone. Any recommendation for a good NLP book? I know nothing about it, and would like to explore it. I am looking for something with a rather complete knowledge and also practical exercizes... I already saw that Steve Pav was recommending some Tony Robbins book... Any other ideas? |

| There are many levels and specialized applications of NLP, but if you're looking for a good starter book, I'd recommend no other than Tony Robbins' Unlimited Power : The New Science Of Personal Achievement NLP mixed with personal development principles, explained in a concise way.

| NLP: The New Technology is a good introduction to the subject and includes many exercises.

| If I recall correctly, Steve recommended a book by Richard Bandler, "Using your Brain--For a Change".

| I would recommend NLP Weekly, to learn a bit of NLP. While it is no real book, the fact that you are here at Steves site shows that you are familar with "learning blogs".

| Frogs into Princes by Grinder and Bandler got me started with NLP, a really good intro. And another of their books Using your Brain: for a Change is recommended by Steve (and me). Lastly, I really liked the intro to Be Your Best With NLP, but it has poor review on amazon. I'd recommend undergoing NLP with a trainer, and, if you're interested doing some training. Have fun! Alan! |

| I've read probably 25 NLP books. Most are terrible! Tony Robbins two books are good if you like charisma and can tolerate all the underlining and hype. But the best are by Steve Andreas. Specifically Transforming Your Self and Six Blind Elephants volumes 1 and 2. Steve writes clearly and precisely, with the wisdom of experience. The Structure of Magic is also quite good--a classic. Helps if you have studied linguistics, but intelligent readers can handle it with some study. NLP, at its best, is a very precise technology that requires deep introspection and hours and hours of practice. Best to get live training, or to buy these DVDs from NLPCO. |
