I was curious as of what sources everyone would recommend for this area.

My last seminar was on communication and I feel it definitely has increased awareness of self. I would love to further grow in this area.

Specifically in Speaking, listening, and acting (non-verbal communication).

Also including in growing personal skills and emotional intelligence, which in my opinion leads to excellent communication skills.

Has anyone studied these areas? And if so what do you recommend?

Not really sure if that would help because your question is not very clear, but do you mean something along the lines of improving your understanding of others?

If so, maybe NLP or studying body language would help.

Yes, I've been studying communication for the last 10 years or so. The approach I found most useful (both for communication and for my own self development) is Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

Just do a Google search and you'll find a lot of resources available. There's also an International Center The Center for Nonviolent Communication with a lot of free learning resources.

I think the classic How to Win Friends and Influence People is worth its weight in gold.
