Default how to overcome stress

I think I have been going ok for some days....but I get really stressed out after my daily grind...yesterday was a heck of a day...did a lot of stuff..which I dont generally do...but it really makes me tired....I tried sleeping it off...but I still seem to have a "hangover"....

I used to use porn as a stress reliever...but I am trying to hold out on it....what do you guys do when you get stressed?

something that is easy...and doesnt require any special requirements or equipment

1.Take a walk in the park.
2.Deep breathing.
3.Remind myself to do one thing at a time. Nothing more nothing less.

This is what I do to help me eliminate stress.

I had written an article "15 ways to help you deal with stress." You can read it for more info too. Click here to read it.

Cheers

Stress is the mind killer. Perhaps you're doing too much. You shouldn't refer to your activities as a "daily grind." If you feel that your days are like that, change your life. Me, I would never let my life get stressful because I have a medical condition that gets worse with stress.

What I would suggest is trying to eliminate stress from your life. Catch the root problem instead of treating the symptoms. Stress is all of your own creation. You decide what will make you stressed. You have the choice not to get stressed. It's very hard to gain control over these things, but just see things from a bigger perspective and you'll realize that the stress you're feeling is not warranted.

As mentioned above, exercise and deep breathing have always been helpful for me in calming me down. I know that when I am feeling stressed, my mind races and I can't stop thinking about whatever the stressor in.

Add in to that list stretching and meditation. Lastly, if you are stressed and feeling angry or frustrated some emotional release work would be helpful as well. Go into your car with your windows rolled up and scream. Or, physically beat into a cushion or punching bag.

Pace up and down your room and give yourself a pep-talk.

Anyway, the "hangover" feeling often happens when people don't get enough fluids. Are you drinking a lot of water?

Just exhale.

Seriously, I'd bet money that, during the day, when you're doing these stressful things that cause you so much trouble, you suck air and hold your breath. It's a culturally transmitted patter that we pick up as children. just exhale and relax. It makes everything easier, and you don't end up piling stress on top of stress throughout the day.

It may be peculiar but I actually like the stress...I maynot like it when I wake up in the morning..and feel so tired to go to work...but when I look back and see the amount of work I got done..I feel so good....but probably I have to build something like excercise into my regular routine...the best way out probably will be to combine...by probably joining a running club or something...where I will meet new people...laugh with them...and get my daily dose of excercise...lets see whether I can do that sometime in future...

I was just reading "The 4-Hour Workweek" and Timothy Ferriss talks about the two kinds of stress: distress and eustress. Eustress is good stress; the kind of stress that help you to progress, to grow.

Sounds like you're experiencing that. Perhaps it's in how you frame it for yourself. It's good but it's still tiring and you need a break from it.

In fact, a lot of how we experience stress IS in our personal framing of it.

Another good book on understanding the effects of stress on the body is Robert Sapolsky's "Zebras Don't Get Ulcers".
