Default Getting More by Asking for More

I was doing some site seeing here in Ecuador yesterday and was driving for many hours. The travel game gave me some time to think and I was thinking about how often a really push myself out of my comfort zone. The fact that I am living and working in Ecuador for a couple of months tells me I’m not doing too bad but even so, there is always, always room to grow. I have noticed that often times in business and direct dealings with people I tend to accept a little less then what I want because to ask for move involves being uncomfortable. I find I just go with what is easily acceptable by both sides, it doesn’t mean I always make bad deals but I think I could push a little harder to get a little more. I then looked back on some deals I’m sure we have all entered and asked myself what have I given up because I didn’t want to ask for a little more: a little more money at work, a better deal when you take your car in for repairs, a better deal when buying a house? What if on each of those things I had asked for just a little more, even if I didn’t get everything I asked for I got a little more than what was easily acceptable, wouldn’t things like this start to add up? I think they would so I’ve decided to challenge myself the next time a situation arises and I feel like if ask for something or request a little more it will be uncomfortable I am going to open my mouth and speak. Is there an area of your life you could step outside of your comfort zone? If so I challenge you to push yourself and grow as a person.

Hi,

Good for you you if you can push yourself outside of your comfort zone. It's really not easy to do.

As they say, 'Before you can have more, you must first be more.'

I need to do it me too. I will have the chance to do it. Maybe, I will join toastmaster. I'm really not comfortable for public speaking. So, it will really a push for me.

bye

Hugo

Hi jthomson,

We always need to step outside of our comfort zone to grow and only those who constantly do this will get more results in life. Thanks for the point.

Cheers

I am also experiencing this imperitive! (and I feel lime I'm having spelling trouble too. oh yeah. it's 4 am. LOL)

I struggled for my entire adolescent/adult life with WORTHINESS issues! and I've had to lose a LOT in order to appreciate the inherant WORTH of everything and EVERYONE.

best wishes to all on this track.
