I really like the idea of thinking positive and having positive beliefs. I used to be a very negative person and had alot of bad thought patterns. Now I try to put a positive spin on everything even when things appear really bad. I actually owe it partly to this website for changing that. Thanks Steve! There is a positive belief that I have that has given me alot of confidence and hope for the future. It has helped me with some things and gives me alot of motivation. I believe, with enough time and effort, anything can be done, whether it is mental or physical. Time + Effort = Results. All other factors are meaningless. This kinda sounds simple but i had to learn it, there was alot of things I thought I couldn't do or achieve when I was younger, I had a really can't do attitude and it effected my education in school. I think alot of people have this attitude which is wrong! This kind of reminds me of the two prison films ‘escape from Alcatraz’ and ‘the shawshank redemption’ and how the main characters escape. It takes them alot of time (something they have plenty of) and a little effort every day but they eventually break free. I always think about this whenever I want to achieve something these days and it's helping alot with my personal development. Anyway, I'd like to know what positive beliefs some people here have and how do they help you?

I fully agree you. I finally realized this only 2 weeks ago when I watched ... The Secret. Since then, I have kept a positive attitude at all times and I began to sincerely be thankful for all I have in life ... man do I feel great! It creates a sense of inner peace that relaxes you and removes all stress. It also greatly improves your relationship with others. I now monitor how I feel constantly. If I feel bad or stressed, I know it is related to my thoughts and I immediately identify what they are and change them to positive ones. This definitely makes me see my life in a different way! great post Perseus... a few years back, it helped me a lot to think of life as a game. We're just a bundle of energy and I use to think if I directed that energy the same way a pitcher throws a ball, it would help me zero in on things I wanted to experience in life.... I imagined myself throwing balls of energy to the object of my desire... may sound funny, but it worked for me.

My own mantra or positive belief that I live my life by is "what you give is what you get". I truly believe that what you put out is what you'll get back, help others and you will be helped. Treat others poorly and this is what you should expect to get back, etc, etc. It sounds pretty simple but from my experiences in life this is what I truly believe which makes my life very easy to live. It all comes down to an understanding of energy and what's buried in your subconscious mind, I have written extensively on both energy and the mind at the link below. John

Excellent examples abound which exemplify the relationship of thought to reality. Perhaps our brains are influencing, or creating (ala "What the Bleep do We Know") reality in real time. Perhaps not. Reality is mysterious stuff, and so are thought and language and intent. This morning I read a succint piece which sums it up (in my mind) : http://thinkarete.com/thinkarete.themanifesto.pdf. Best Wishes, Eric |
