Default Problem with LoA, Please Help

I've been working with the Law of Attraction for several years now, in fact, I just wrote a post this morning about the importance of taking action on those inspired thoughts that come to us when we're connecting to Source. Not even two minutes after I hit the "post" button I received an e-mail offering me an opportunity that about 18 months ago I would have jumped at, but the company in question has jerked me around for the past year and a half and I have moved on. The "job" in question is basically a two-day assignment. The pay is paltry, but presenting to this group could open up doors for me, maybe. It's a lot of work for very little money and from a purely business perspective, I would not advise a friend to take it. However, I've been visualizing earning more money in 2007. I've promised to do my part in accepting Source's guidance and being willing to do the work necessary. I've let go of trying to control the "how."

I had a similar situation just two months ago. After some deep meditation I felt good about my future and could feel the universe working in my favor. Then I received a call from a former employer with whom I thought I'd burned a bridge. I didn't take that job because she's very nasty to work for and my self-esteem always suffers when I'm around her - she, and the company, completely drain my energy. I wrestled with the decision, though, and felt guilty for several days for not taking it.

Part of me says that this is MY life experience and I get to choose which experiences I participate in. In that case, I would not accept this recent offer. However, I am wanting to make more money and this is an opportunity to make money. Is the universe trying to tell me something? I've tried consulting with my guides, nothing. I asked them last time to not test me like this. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Taking the job doesn't feel right; turning it down doesn't feel right. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Debra, as avid students of LOA, sometimes we have such a high expectation of our desire, that we overlook some very simple things. When stating what we want the universe to create, we must include that we want that to be congruent with our personality and nature. The creation of money is an easy thing for the universe, but we must be totally clear on what we want. If not, then we are given methods that are not in harmony with our lives. If we are clear that we want that money to be for the higher good of all involved, in a way that empowers and enlightens your life, then it will be brought to you via a means that you will not have to question at all. You will know immediately that it is what you were truly wanting. Hope this helps.

I can tell by your post that this opportunity doesn't feel right. You sound bothered and conflicted. Tell the universe to bring you a clearer opportunity.

Thank you, Colonel.

And Taking Action, the phrase, "via a means that you will not have to question at all" spoke to me. Thank you, you've helped a great deal.

It is great that you are getting so many opportunities. However, in my opinion, it is not because an opportunity comes along that you must jump on the band-wagon. Because, these could lead you down a path you do not want.

Money is one thing but, as mentioned in the previous post, there are other elements to consider.

Bottom line, each opportunity should be assessed carefully and pursued only if it meets all of your needs and requirements.

Hope this helps

Thumbs down It's not worth it

Sounds to me like you are attracting money, but not the way you want to. I would rephrase my intention to:
I'm making more money in way that allows me to pursue my purpose. I'm offering value to people whom appreciate and respect me. I'm attracting projects which are challenging and healthy. I'm attracting projects where I make a financial profit.

Notice this intention states clearly to the Universe that:

* you'll only work with people who respect you
* you'll only accept projects where you can make money
* you'll only do projects that are congruent with your purpose
* you'll only do projects which create value for yourself and others

If you state your intentions this way, you'll get what you won't. Forget about how things were in the past, you aren't that person anymore. Today you're confident. You believe in abundance. You are stronger. Today, you don't put up with people who mistreat and underpay you. Say NO and send these folks and the Universe a message...You don't put up with crap!

Don't allow yourself to accept these situations as a normal way to earn income. Say NO, so that you can make room for REAL oppurtunities.

I'm glad you made this post because it has helped me as well. I was facing some issues with pricing my online marketing services. Today, I decided to increase my fees because I know I'm worth it. And you're worth the best too

Thanks, Rene.

And Alexia - thank you, thank you, thank you. You said it perfectly and reminded me that I am constantly telling my all-female audiences to NOT undervalue themselves. I see that every day and here I was debating on whether I should do it.

I think the frustration is also in that it's what I used to want. You know? 18 months ago I would have jumped at it. But you're right, I'm not that person anymore.

There's also a part of me that thinks, well, if it took 18 months for that desire to manifest, what if it takes 18 months for my current desires to manifest and I could be doing this stuff in the meantime? But then I won't have the time to pursue what I want to do now. aarrgghh! I hate doubt!

I will rephrase my intention starting now. Good luck to you.

Thanks, Alexia. You can probably see why my website is my passion and I don't want to be distracted right now.

Just to update everyone--I turned down the job, and I feel fantastic! I even had something manifest for me this morning that was completely in line with my values and I had "no doubt."

You terriffic people got me through a tough one and I can't express how deeply I appreciate you. I will do my best to repay you, or pay it forward.

Default LoA Doesn't Mean to Avoid Life

Sorry, I am a little late in responding. Even though, you have already made your choice, I wanted to point out a few things.

1) LoA means that were are attracting everything in our lives. Thus, when people who upset us present themselves in our lives, we attracted them and we need to decide what to do with them
a) Dismiss them from our lives
b) Accept them they way they are
c) Accept them and see it is our reaction to them that is driving our emotions

2) You pointed out that an old boss came back into your life and you said no to the opportunity to work with him/her again because how how you felt (self-esteem suffered and zapped your energy) - I do not know if I am off base here in saying this, yet any time I read self-esteem suffered, I have a need to point out the first word in self-esteem because it isn't them, it is us who does it to ourselves. I had a client say that anytime his wife started nagging him, his self-esteem went downhill. I pointed out that it really wasn't self-esteem if it went away so quickly but an illusionary house of cards that made him think it was self-esteem. Self-esteem has nothing to do with what others do or say to us. Their words only affect us if we believe in what they said was true at some level. So if we really had self-esteem (which I am still working on) no matter what someone says or does, it is not affected.

So should you take the job or not. I do not know. However, it would have been interesting to see if you did not feel hostility (for the past 18 months waiting) whether you would have felt differently or not. Maybe the universe wanted you to wait to get ready because as you said, it could have lead to bigger & better paying jobs. Or, if you feel your energy is going in a new direction (e.g., your website) then stick with that and your old bosses are just a distraction.

Good luck
