Hello Guys, I have almost finished reading Steve's new book. It it very useful and practical. I do have however a problem. I love studying languages. I love to interact with other in their own language and on their own level. It's almost as if I am experiencing something so different when I interact with other in their own language. I love dealing with people and cultural/historical aspects of their country. I would like to study languages, but I can't see a clear message or medium which I can convey this skill through, apart from the obvious (Translation, Teaching and so on), but I want to provide something more. I love Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese, as well as this, my native language is Arabic and I speak English fluently. Now how can I give and receive value through developing language skills? It just seems a bit difficult to come up with some answers. I would love your feedback. Thanks everybody. |

Maybe you are simply asking the wrong question. The fact that you like the languages doesn't mean that they can fullfil you and give your life a purpose. You could start trying Steves finding your purpose excercise. |

You could potentially work for a company that requires those skills. Or hire yourself out as a business translator/consultant to companies outside the country you're in. Wait are you asking this for making money or fulfillment? You could also help people who've just come to your country but speak one of those languages adjust to living there? |
