Default Ways to Break Timidity

  • Take a COLD shower
  • Hard Physical Exercise - if you do it by playing sports, or something with a purpuse the pain will be pleasurable, or even the gym if you really love it.
  • Practice being Loud
  • Do something outrageous
  • Take a risk
  • The next impulse you get - follow it! Just dive in, no hesitation
  • Make friends with BOLD people

Also:
Visualise success
Use NLP techniques to feel powerful

Anybody else have ideas on how to smash timidity?

Default yup challenge

I have always challenged myself. Tried something that scared the wits out of me. Spoke up in a situation where I would have normally stayed quite and held my opinion to myself. If I came off looking like an ass, oh well, it was a small personal gain for myself.

I wonder if this comes easier with age?

I love "practice being loud." Its tough at first because you are listening to yourself thinking "OMG I am so freakin' loud right now."
Once you project your voice enough, sounding loud becomes second nature and normal.
If projecting your voice is something you do consistenlty.....congratulations, you are no longer perceived as timid.

I do trail blazing + immersion + 30 day trials. I do the extreme in areas of life which makes lesser steps seem trivial and makes gains the quickest. Ways to increase your courage, power, and authority will be the quickest ways to banish timidity.

Health:
Diet: I water fasted for 14 days in 2007: now any diet seems easy, I know I can survive 14 days without ANY food, what could be so bad about trying a certain kind of food instead?
Diet part 2: I once weighed 250 lbs. I decided to stop doing this and made an immediate change, I ate only baked chicken, spaghetti, and salad for an entire summer. Any healthy diet with a variety of options feels abundant now.
Diet part 3: I went from SAD, to 100% vegan in January. Once vegan felt abundant I went to raw vegan. On raw vegan I have been eating mostly apples and oranges, I've only had 2-3 foods you would actually consider a meal, adding in a variety of foods and eating prepared meals will feel very abundant.

Exercise: High Intensity Impact Training (Sprinting + Jogging) for cardio, and Static Contraction weight lifting (ultra intensity weight lifting). These would be my preferred exercise methods if I didn't have a heart condition (Still too timid for that risk )
Exercise part 2: When I was a big fatty I never exercised. The same night I started eating healthier I began a new exercise routine. I sprinted and played basketball alone every night without fail that entire summer. Now a variety of exercise sounds abundant and pleasant.

Sleep: If I can not manage an early riser program (my goal starting early March) on my first attempt. I plan on staying up for as long as I possibly can (at least 3 days), and this will make waking up at 5 am easy in comparison. If I know for a fact I can go three days without sleep, the desire to stay in bed will be much less appealing.
Sleep part 2: Once I have mastered Early Riser I will convert to poly-phasic. If I can handle waking up at 5 am for 30 days I can handle poly-phasic. If I can't, I will stay up for as long as possible, if I can stay up for three days straight, getting 2 hours of sleep will be an improvement.

Spirituality:
Ego - I've smoked DMT, a very powerful hallucinogen which completely obliterates your ego (this is the drug your brain releases when you die), 20 times. My ego is now far less intimidating in daily life.
Feelings - To manage my feelings I will either practice a week-30 days of completely repressing/ignoring/disbelieving my feelings (Thanks TheCloud ) or completely letting my feelings influence all my behavior. Controlling my emotions will be easier after that.
Dreaming/OBEs - I have a lot of experience with OBEs and Sleep Paralysis. My first few experiences with sleep paralysis I was visited by a grim reaper and little devils. When practicing OBEs I've been attacked by strange bat daemons who bite me. The courage to keep going back and learning from these events is the anti-thesis of timidity. The day I enslave my bat daemons will be incredibly rewarding.

I feel I am far more afraid of relationships, money, and career. This is good news..I was very afraid of diet, exercise, and spirituality, and they have been very rewarding to master. A good way to defeat timidity is to understand how great it feels to do so, that timidity is the gatekeeper to feeling amazing. Surging with Power.. Its a good thing.
