Hi, I notice that many people keep an journal of their current goals and how their process. I do want to start a 30 day trial but I feel it's to personal to publish on the internet, so those who are doing a 30 day trial without posting on the internet do you write it down in your notebooks on the desk ? Also, one thing about journaling, how do you write it? Past tense in a "story-like" fashion ? "Today I went out for 30 minutes and jogged and meditated for 15 minutes" ? or "Jog for 30 minutes < check mark > , meditate for 15 minutes < check mark >" ? Just wondering :P Thanks, Hlynur T |

I have recorded my 30 day results both the evening of the same day of events, and late morning of the day after. I find anything much longer then that, and I start losing a lot of the details. I like recording the evening of the same day the best, gives me time to sort of go over my day, analyze any mistakes or struggles, and mentally put in place reminders or corrections to not make them again. Seems a nice wrap up of the day if you have time. When I journal, I usually do a summary first (example from current challenge): Wake 5 am - Done Meditate - Done (20 mins, although struggled after 15 mins) Work Goals - Done Yoga - Done (45 mins) Evening prep - Done From there, I usually make a few notes about struggles and positives outcomes, and any changes I am noticing due to the challenge. What worked, what didn't, if I had a problem, trace back to why, and then consider changes if needed. I do a lot more of this in the beginning of the challenge, while usually in the last week or two, its just a quick summary. On top of my journaling, I have created daily checklists when its really a busy 30 day, and usually a summary page of rules and goals for the month I can post on my office board as a reminder. Best of luck on your endeavor!!! |

If your trial concerns something that needs your focus troughout the day, I would recommend journalling troughout the day, like first time in the morning, then after work/ school, then before bed. Journalling during the day helps to remind yourself to make sth of that day and to stay focussed as for your trials.
