Default How to increase your productivity by 300%

I got it from one foreign website and translated. I thought it was very interesting post. Sorry if it is not 100% grammatically correct.

Sometimes there are periods in life when there is a lot of work, but there is no drive to work. And even if you work, it is far from what could have been done. In order to fix it, there are 16 simple steps.

1. Remember one rule: whatever you will be doing the first hour of your day, it is what you will be doing for the rest of your day - that is how your mind works. If you start your day by browsing forums, you will keep doing it till evening. Do not overload your brain with useless information like news, etc. Ideally focus on one project for 2-3 hours. Then move to another project for 2-3 hours. Do not jump back and forth.

2. Get rid of time killers. ICQ, Skype, Forums, Blogs, Solitaire. Create a schedule: turn on ICQ or Skype only to complete certain tasks and only at the end the day. Instead of messengers use email or phone, it is more efficient. Schedule forum reading once a week, there will be no revolution without you.

3. Get out bed before 8, that alone will increase productivity.

4. Exercise. Increases endorphins level. Improves blood flow, including blood flow to the brain. Aerobic exercises: swimming, running, biking are very important.

5. Must exercise in the morning.

6. When at the desk, always sit up straight. That will increase blood flow to the brain.

7. Contrast shower (hot/cold) in the morning. Improves your immune system and really wakes you.

8. Plan, plan, and once again plan. If there is no plan, when you finish a task, you start thinking what to do next. Find something to do. Complete. And then again think what you could do. It is a lot more productive to create a plan in the evening and follow it the next day. Until you have a plan, you can’t see the progress of your project; and therefore, you cannot get satisfaction from your work. Start using To-Do list.

9. Stop drinking alcohol, smoking weed, or take other drugs. It takes 3-4 days for your body to remove it from your system. During that time your brain does not perform well.

10. Diet. No processed food. Small portions 4-6 times a day.

11. Walk a mile after meal. If you get to the computer right after meal, you will feel sluggish, and as a result, start reading forums or play games to stay alert. Besides, walking after meal will keep you slim.

12. Strict work schedule. Human body adapts to various habits. Classic example - Friday. After 4 pm, your mind is already drinking beer with your friends, you can almost feel the taste of chips. And that is because for the past 10 years, you met your friends for beer every friday. Same way you can make a habit to do work. If you will be working everyday from 9 to 6. You will get used to it and will be productive during those hours.

13. Just like your body, you have to exercise your mind. Learn new things, play logical games, solve math problems, etc.

14. Take 5 minute breathing break every hour. When we concentrate and work on something for long period of time, our breathing becomes shallow, and as a result, not enough oxygen goes to your brain, which makes you sleepy and you lose focus.

15. Working more than 12 hours a day can have lead to loss of productivity.
16. Make sure you get enough rest.
