| How to Get Up Right Away When Your Alarm Goes Off Has anybody been successful with this method? I read this several times but somehow didn't get motivation actually to put it into practice. |

I have done the practice he mentions a couple of days, but only started my actual challenge as of this morning. I shot out of bed this morning like a rocket, but alas, between a new alarm clock and the first day of a challenge, its likely not related to my practice time but more the newness factor. So in a few days I am hoping the practice will keep me from hitting the snooze in my sleep. I have meditated, programed my mind to wake up at the set time, and done practice sessions of pretending to get up with the alarm......plus I have several other factors in the challenge to motivate me to get up on time. I am extremely hopeful at this point I have laid the groundwork for success on this one. Will report back in 30 days Erin |

I did a few practise sessions last night. I first read this article and decided to become an early riser over a year ago but never got around to putting it into practise! Today was the 1st day of my 30 day challenge to get up at 7am. I'm going to do some more practise sessions tonight. I noticed that each time my alarm went off I felt cross. I must be so conditioned to feeling that way! I might try setting the radio to wake me up instead although the aerial is not very good.

Hey, although I didn't practice the waking up ritual exercise, today I woke up on 7:00 straight out of the bed at the alarm clock. Thanks to getting mad at myself reflecting last night on wasting so much time by not waking up to the alarm clock.

This method works great for me I go to bed when i'm sleepy and get up at the same time each morning. After about 2 minutes of waking i'm refreshed and ready to start the day. I'm currently stepping it back so I can wake up earlier. Keeping it easy at 5 minutes earlier a week. |

I have not done any alarm-clock conditioning but am diving right into a 6am wake-up time after trying to gradually ease into it and failing. I've never done the conditioning exercise and have some resistance to the idea (can't explain - maybe because i'm generally resistant to waking up early?), but have decided that it's do or die on this. I've had periods of 4 months where I've had to wake up at 5am in the dead of Vermont winter, walk a mile in -15 degree cold, and spend the sunrise hours shoveling cow poop - without ever flubbing. Reason: the saturday night detention I'd face if I didn't get up. So I know I can do it. It's just a matter of making it important enough.

I successfully use this idea suggested by one of the FM (sorry don't recollect the name) He had suggested on one of the threads, a long time ago. I have recorded(in my own voice) the top 5 passions of my life after doing the Purpose of Life exercise How to Discover Your Life Purpose in About 20 Minutes So my Clock Alarm sings nothing but this.......if you are sincere enough & desperately want to succeed, then you will always wake up at the set time. |

How do I actually practice what I read on Steve's site and other sources which I think is a good idea instead of procrastinating and wasting time? | |
