Default 30 day challenge: cleaner house - ENDED

Ended my 30 day trial - with my severe ADHD being untreated at the moment, and overwhelmed with other stuff, this just wasn't realistic for me. I've decided I need to refocus and make a 30 day trial of dealing with my ADHD.

Wow, pyrogen! The courage to take on and to tough out a 30-day challenge (espcially regarding a cleaner house <hehe> ) while struggling with severe ADHD, that is a success just of itself.

But I was wondering: were there strategies or times of day or other things that worked better for you than pre-Challenge efforts? It almost sounds like you learned nothing from your challenge and I'm thinking I've misunderstood.

I completely failed in keeping the house consistently clean, my cleaning habits barely if at all improved over a 30 day period, but I did learn quite a lot. And there's been a LITTLE progress.

The following helps a little:

1. Identify biggest distractions, prioritize things I need to do and do priority tasks before even starting with distractions. I.E. before I leave the house (I can be gone all day from following my impulses around and talking to random people), and before doing things that can be a timesuck... the internet.

2. Keep up on the small manageable stuff... cat box, dishes, and the dogs regularly shred stuffed animals and leave their "guts" all over the floor.

3. LOOK AT THE FLOOR
I've actually not at all been in the habit before of even looking at the floor and now I look at it.

I haven't even made a dent at all in some of the big stuff, such as my bedroom which is such a disaster area that I don't even sleep in it.
