Hi, I'm currently 3rd year undergrad for Mechanical Engineering, and I have been seriously considering an MBA emphasizing international business soon after graduation/work. My motivation behind this career path was the fear of mundane work in engineering, and I am highly looking forward to a career that allows me to travel, not just stuck in an office. My ideal places of travel are Japan, China, or Taiwan...but never mind that for now, I really need a plan now to build my resume so that I can be accepted into an MBA program for international business AND have solid experiences for proof. This concerns me because due to various circumstances in the past few years, my resume just isn't that good aside from a "good grade". The best phrases to represent my resume now is: "average Joe" or "regular civilian", and the definition of resume to me is experience - there just isn't enough firepower in my experience to be confident about MBA International. I am sorry for not providing specific questions, but I am hoping to invoke a discussion concerning this career planning, perhaps I should start talking to our Study Abroad office? (Kind of late? considering I'm 3rd year now...) What are somethings I can do at home-sweet-home U.S to prepare myself? (I need to be careful picking a program, making sure it connects to this career path) Thanks for your thoughts, (I hope this is the right board to pose, because it's so similar to business & finance...)
