People are motivated 1 of 2 ways: move away from pain or go towards pleasure. For example, in most religions, there is the Heaven and Hell concept. People who are motivated by pleasure: A person lives their life to go to Heaven. This means that the thought of going to Heaven (pleasure) motivates them to be a good person. People who are motivated by pain: A person lives their life to stay away from Hell. This means that the thought of going to Hell (pain) motivates them to be a good person. Since many religions use it as a type of leverage, this principle has been a deciding factor amongst people for a very long time. This is also why goals do not work too well for people who are away from pain. Away from pain people are better off focusing on what they don’t want in life. To find out if you or someone is away from pain or towards pleasure, ask the following questions: [Click here to read more] After you click the link and read the article, how can you use this leverage to help you succeed? |

I prefer positivity and no rewards for negative behavior. ^^, In the long run people, friends, co-workers, servants or even kids will have to be very conscious in order for them to realize your good intentions for being strict if you follow the hell path, but if through positivity, there will be no negative back flow. Then again, both should be employed if necessary. ^^, |

I've never really thought of myself as a 'moving towards pleasure' or 'moving away from pain' person, actually. Most, if not all, of my goals, can be construed as either/or. For example, exercising is something I love to do, both to gain weight and look more fit. Two of the reasons I exercise are... to have more energy to help others (pleasure?) or to help my body fight of sickness quicker (pain?) You seem to equate "giving" with pleasure and "taking away" with pain - "I'll give you something to make you happy if you make me happy" or "I'll take away this need you want fulfilled if you make me mad" - is that normal in this model? Or can you give pleasure/give pain through other means? |

One may think think they have tendencies to be either or, but you are predominately just one. What would cause you to go do better at your job? a zero in your back account or the possibility of making millions? taking something a way signifies you motivated by pain giving something shows that pleasure is what gets you going does that makes sense? Read my article as I show you more ways to figure out which one you are. |
