Welcome everyone, In 'Majesticzero's 30 days to success' I'm going to give up something every 30 days. The idea behind this is from the 30 days to succes article by Steve. If I succeed in giving something up for 30 days I will choose to give it up forever.. or not. It depends on the pros and cons. The first 30 days will be 'masturbation'. Why? Because I want to know if I really have more energy without it. Another thing I want to know is if my life will be more possitive without it. I've read that masturbation releases a negative energy. I'm sure this will be true when you feel bad about it. And in the title you will also see 'Read for an hour a day'. This is my second objective for these 30 days. Why 2 objectives? Simple, to stop masturbating I need something else to do. And reading about something that interests me is alway good. With this I can also test if I'm capable of changing 2 things for 30 days at once. So for the next 30 days I'm going to give up masturbation so I can read and learn about interesting stuff... I will be starting the test on: 7 january 2009 I will end the test on: 5 february 2009 |

By all means keep going with your challenge. I've done similar things myself. But masturbation is a natural thing. Its necessary like eating. It's a good thing, and fun. People who have sex or masturbate at least twice a week live longer than people who don't. |

One of my new year's resolutions was giving up masturbation for the first 30 days of the year. By January 3 my erection would not let me go to sleep, so I gave in, and ended up masturbating 6 times in the next 24 hours. Good luck. You're a brave man. |

Like said in earlier posts, once or twice a week is no problem. When doing it everyday I takes a lot of energy.

I'm currently reading Buddhism for dummies. And it really interesting to read about this subject! After this I'll probably start reading The Power of Now

this is a worthy goal and takes a load of discipline. The longest i've gone w/o ejaculating is 14 days. I am up to 7 days this week but ended it. I was agitated even though I had a little bit more energy but no superman personal magnetism.

I've always been fascinated by Buddhism, and today was the first time I've talked to an actual Buddhist. I'm a direct agent recruiter for an insurance company and am recruiting an agent in CO to sell our Med Supp products there and we were having a discussion and it came up she was Buddhist. I asked her a variety of questions and she actually recommended the very book you're reading if I wanted to know all about it. Funny how the world works sometimes. For the record the longest I think I ever went without "relieving myself" was around 3 weeks. I wasn't trying to NOT do it and the time slipped by all on it's own. For those of you who know about paradoxical intention, it's when I intentionally try to NOT do it is when the urge seems to overwhelm me.

I personally find Trantra stuff incredibly arousing. Even though it might help him embrace sex, it's probably not a good idea until his trial is over. Just my take.

Sorry everyone, I only go to this forum when I need a computer. And most of the time I only need it for work. Here's a quick update: day 10: success! day 11: success! About the reading: I'm still reading Buddhism for dummies. And I'm reading the latest issue of 'Happinez' (It's a dutch mind style magazine). And about the 'spiritual' tantra: I don't know anything about it. Maybe I can find a book about it! Thanks for the advice. |
