Then do it! Of course, you might have to make some sacrifices in order to make it work. Where I live in Colorado (USA), there are a lot of people that come here from all over just because they want to live in or near the mountains, but in many cases they have to give up their old higher paying jobs for wage jobs here, or whatever else they can get. But it can be done, and for the most part they seem happy to be here. Same with Hawai'i when I was there. |

Cheap as chips in south-east Asia, as are most modest accommodations in the developing world. A few years ago I looked at French villas in Laos for $40-50/month. One has to remember, though, that resources & western-style high-paid jobs are rather scarce. In Australian resorts (for the most part they're only in holiday/vacation places/motels/resorts) they're about $300 per night minimum. They ain't places you can live in on a permanent basis. Australia is mostly houses with big yards, apartments in the city centres, & the other usual European-style living quarters. |
