What a strange question!

Short answer: sometimes.

Long answer: Christmas means nothing to me. When I'm in the same country as my family, I celebrate with them, because it's important to them and I like spending nice time with them. When I'm not in the same country, I spend Christmas alone and don't celebrate.

I usually forget my friends and family members' birthdays, as well as my own. Not that I don't care, I simply often don't know which day exactly is today.

When I manage to think of it or get reminded, I celebrate with them if they wish to celebrate with me, or else I just send some love to them and thank the Universe that they travelled around the sun once more with me.

I usually don't celebrate my own birthday, but this year I did.

I have no clue why you want to know that, but I hope this answer was detailed enough?

thanks for your answer

if you are totally fulfilled and happy and achieving all your goals with your current non system of organization then please continue doing what you're doing

alternatively, if you are interested in possibly trialling (maybe a 30 day challenge) a simple and easy life management system, then you may find that it may benefit you greatly. it can be powerful and liberating to schedule the most important things in your life and to know that in each moment you are working on the most important thing at that time (instead of worrying if there's something else you should be doing).

in terms of your celebrating birthdays answer, again if you are happy with your current non system where you forget most of your friends and family members birthdays then that's totally fine and please continue with that

if however, you decide that you do want to call or send a card or email to some of your friends and family members on their birthdays and tell them how much you love and appreciate them, you could buy a calendar for $5 or use a free one online and take 10 minutes putting their birthdays on the appropriate day on the calendar. this will reminds you of your friends and family members birthdays. it's extremely easy to do if you're interested.

after a while you might even start putting other things that need to be done on particular days like exercise or belly dance classes

it's all up to you. you choose the system that works for you best.

for me personally, I can look at the calendar function on my mobile device and in 10 seconds see exactly everything that needs to be done today (usually around 7 things). Looking at this I know exactly what I need to do to keep my main goals moving forward and I can forget and not worry about anything else. It also gives me a LOT of free time to do things I enjoy and when I am enjoying my free time I do not have to worry about anything that I should be doing because I know there is nothing else I have to do today other than the 6 or 7 things on my calendar.

are you able to fully relax in your free time and forget all the dozens of projects that you're currently working on? or do you suddenly remember that you were supposed to book your belly dance class today or that you forgot to write something in your 2nd or 3rd ebook?

are you controlling your goals or are your goals controlling you?

Well. Sometimes I let myself be influenced by others and believe that I should focus on only one thing, or I believe that I should organize myself better or learn self-discipline. However, as I said I am happier AND more productive when I just let myself be the way I am. So, no, I'm not yet fully fulfilled and happy, but not because my system is bad, it's more a problem of lacking self-acceptance.

Of course, I will read Tony Robbins, and I'll test his method.

I am in each moment working on what's most important to me right now. Or else I wouldn't be doing it. As simple as that. Every time I'm done with something, I ask myself what I feel like doing now. And that's in that moment the most important thing on Earth.

Yes, actually I'm fine with that. That's just how I am. My friends know it doesn't mean I don't care about them.

lol

The reason I forget my friends' birthdays is not that I don't know when their birthday is. I have an excellent memory for numbers, and I remember all of my friends' birthdays. I also know their phone numbers by heart, and all other numbers related to them.

The reason I forget my friends' birthdays is, as I said, that I usually don't know today's date. As simple as that. It's completely useless to know that my cousin's birthday is March 5th if I have no clue if today is March 3d or 6th, or monday or thursday.

I do have a calendar in fact, but even that is not enough for me to know the date.

See, that is exactly what I hate. I feel like a slave when I do what "needs to be done" today. Even if I myself decided to do those things today, and even if I decided it just yesterday. I just want to do whatever I feel like doing right now. Because if right now I feel totally inspired to write about xyz on my blog, then that's what I need to do, or else what I will do instead won't be good. And then I totally don't care about the calendar telling me that I should be doing something else.

My main goals keep moving forward too. Not in the way a specialist would enjoy but things keep moving, and that's most important.

Hmmm.... there's no difference between my work and my free time. I basically spend all of my time doing what I most enjoy doing. When I get tired I just relax and then when I feel like doing something again, I do it.

I never forget the dozens of projects that I have. They're always in my heart, and always in some corner of my mind. But not in a stressful way. When I get tired, I just relax and do nothing or sleep or watch a movie. When I have energy, I do exactly what I feel like doing, no matter whether it's "work" or not. When I have an idea for one of my books or something else, I just write it down. I have little notebooks everywhere in the house. I relax a lot, I meditate, go for walks... I think I'm fine.

"Control" is a word I don't want to have in my life. So I don't try to control them, and don't let them control me either. Live and let live.

I'm really happy you have found something that works for you! That's great. I'm simply different.

best of luck to you

if you can remember (unlikely, but worth a try) would you be so kind to update this thread with your progress towards your goals throughout the year or at least in early Jan next year?

all the best

Of course I will.

My goals have changed a little though. I'm not really interested in the streetfighting stuff anymore, for example. Not really in bellydancing either. If I have an opportunity to do it, I will, but it's not a must anymore. Instead I'd love to learn Qigong and Tai Chi.

I also dropped the local Toastmasters and PD club ideas. I still love the idea but I don't think I will stay in this town long enough for that, after all.

But that's a detail.

I'll update this thread regularly!
