| Is it possible to integrate word 2007 with action outline? I love action outline but I want the editing capabilities of word 2007. BTW, Word 2007 is really really good. I highly recommend it. |

| YES I just got Action Outline, seems like a good place to store documents. But yea, it would be 10 times better if the text portion were like Word. I want smiley faces that automatically turn face up, and also === lines that automatically turn to a full divider line, like in Word. I'd also like to see a purple flag, works with my color coding system. I use Times New Roman, 12pt. Btw, does anyone know if the first item in a list is the only one that can be promoted all the way to the farthest left of the column? It looks like after the very first item in the outline, each subsequent item has to be at least one lesser item. It means that an outline looks like this: I. ..A. ....1. ....2. ......a) ......b) ..B. etc, and you can't make any II. or III. or IV.s, because the items can't be shifted any farther left than the A. B. C. hmmm. |

| Action Outline uses a custom text area control. They may have developed it themselves or licensed from a third party, but ultimately it has nothing to do with MS Word or any other word processor. Seems that it was never meant to be used as a full blown word processor (possibly for performance reasons), which is why it doesn't act like one. But I agree that it would be nice if it did.. | Hi, I had the same problem. I wanted the text entry to be similar to word. Ended up testing 20+ different types of PIM organizers, and settled with MyInfo from Milenix as it was fairly close. Especially, the keyboard shortcuts were quite similar with MS Word. Might be worth a try if similarity with Word is quite high on your list. |

Thanks Baltar, For the list portion, I was referring to the left hand column in Action Outline, where the outline is, not the text entry part.. it looks like for any document, there can be only one primary item (the one first one automatically entered as root), and each item after that must be a sub-item of that. It would be nice if it could have several primary roots at a time, like in a normal outline. I emailed them, though not sure how often they update their versions. |

The reason I thought you were talking about the text area is that the text area has some outline limitations as well. For instance you can't do this: 1) ... *) .... *) ....2) .... It starts off at 1 again instead of continuing with 2. Last edited by Baltar : 01-11-2007 at 04:06 AM. |

| Vista + Word + OneNote rocks. I use OneNote to organize my notes. And if you want Word, why not use Word? In Vista (or with MSN search on XP) you can instantly search through all of your documents, no need for the tree structure then. |
