and not my ego? there are so many things I would like to achieve - it maysound unrealistic to average people. I am sure to great people they would seem worthy goals and great to achieve. still I may be a little stuck - maybe have to look if I have negative beliefs |

I always find a great starting point is to write everyone of them down and first ask the question "Why?" e.g. Why do I want to climb everest? When you have a strong enough reason then your goals become much easier to achieve. It will also allow you plan your goals and prioritise which ones need most effort, how close you already maybe to many of them (and what you can already be grateful for). Understanding your goals deeply allows you to accept more (and appropriate) responsibility for them Don't take this process lightly and invest the appropriate amount of time to discover more about who you really are without the noise of our environment and external expectations so often put upon us. |

Depending on your body awareness, you may be able to discern whether the idea come from your heart or mind... or at least when you think of each idea, whether you feel more energy arise from above the neck or below the neck. That's how I usually tell what my goal is based on.

To do determine if you really want to achieve a goal YOU set out to achieve and not attained through social conditioning, consider this: 1. Identify a goal. 2. Visualize what will happen while you are on the path of achieving it. Visualize also what will happen once you actually achieve it. 3. Does the goal feel exciting to you at this present point in time? 4. Check if the goal is still exciting tommorow, then two days later, one week later.. if it is still exciting then your goal is likely to come from a deeper part of your greater self. The key is to determine whether your goal is still exciting for you over a length of time and not just in the present moment. |
