I'm debating about whether I should move to Memphis to live with a friend, or continue living with my mom an hour outside of DC. DC Area -Faster job market, more openings -Have friends and acquaintances here -My favorite meetup group in the whole world is here -My family is here -My doctor is here -More to do in DC than in Memphis Memphis -I would no longer be living at home with my mom, living with a friend is more respectable -More freedom and privacy -Less competition for jobs -Moving to a new city may give me a motivation boost -I may have access to a healthier lifestyle (there is a nearby school where I could run on the track, etc.) Thanks in advance for your input. |

You've got good options in both areas it seems. I don't know that one is inherently better. But for me, sometimes change is needed to get perspective. If it were me I would try the move. If you don't like it you can always move back. If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.

I'd say GO! You'll never know how great it could be til you try. And if it turns out to be not so great, you can come back! I say this as an almost 40 year old that is supporting four kids on my own so I don't have much opportunity at this time to just do something as exciting as up and moving. I'm a trifle envious . . . Good luck! |
