Hello everyone! I'm sure one thing that decreases my productivity and growth in some areas of life is that it's hard for me to ask other people for help. I don't know whether it is some kind of pride, but if someone helps me in achieving something it seems to me like it's not me, who achieved that something. But after all, when I've finished something I was working on by myself, I think to myself: "Why haven't I asked any help? I could finish it earlier and with better result!" But next time I make the same mistake. I think the key to solve this problem is to change my attitude to the act of "asking" itself. So I'd be glad if you share your points of view on act of "asking", so I could probably apply one of them for me |

It's a pride issue if you cannot ask for help. I learned as a little kid that help was a good thing. Of course, I learned it because we were dirt poor, and probably would have missed quite a few meals if we didn't get any help. Always keep in mind that you cannot received what you do not ask for. And know that there are people that really like to help. I'm sure that there are lots of em here now. |

Token, The greatest achievers of all time have done so with the help of others. As humans we help eachother, it's the natural thing to do. The same way you like to help others if they need a hand, they also like to help you when you need it. This very forum we are a part of is all about helping others. You wouldn't be here if you didn't feel the same way. By asking a friend or anyone else for help allows you both to share in your success. Best of luck, John |
