Default asking subconscious for advice

Sorry it this is not the right section, but it did not seem psychic enough for the other

Does anyone have experience in asking your subconscious mind for help? I read about people who did and got answers in a dream. So last night I fell asleep while reapeating my question, that's how I read they did it. Strangely, I fell asleep right after the second time I thought the question. Strange because when I'm not tired, it takes me a while to fall asleep. Anyways, I had a night mare. It couldn't be the answer, could it? I know it doesn't have to be litteral, and I have an idea of how to interpret dreams (John Keho) but I'm not sure if I did it right. Or maybe I don't want to be sure

Experience anyone? Can I do it again with the same question?

The answer doesn't always come in an immediate dream. The subconscious, in my experience, typically works like this:

a) I ask a question which is challenging me
b) I wait for an answer
c) At the most unexpected time, I suddenly "discover" the perfect answer.

Since I rarely remember my dreams, the answers often come to me a day or 1-2 weeks after I pose the question.

Typically it is like an "Aha!' moment... and it sounds like your dream didn't have that kind of "oomph" to it... so my recommendation is to ask again periodically throughout the day and before you go to sleep.

Your mind will keep working on the answer until it can find a solution.

However, keep in mind that this is typically not effective with future situations. It's best when the perfect answer could, theoretically, be applied almost immediately.

How do you know it's the "perfect" answer? I mean what if you did follow through more than once on what you thought was the right answer, but it turned out to be all wrong.

How does accepting the uncertainty of life factor in?

Why not? The guy I read about asked if he should take a job that he was offered abroad. In his dream he saw his friend showing him a newspaper head line announcing war. It showed him what will happen a few years in advance.

My question was formed in "what will happen if I do this".
I'll try again tonight.

A sidenote, what is the difference between asking your subconsciousness and praying for guidance?

Seems close to synonyms to me...

Default what is a nightmare

What is your definition of a nightmare?

If you wake up from a dream feeling an adrenaline rush that's supposed to me that the message of the dream is important.

I'm not sure how you define a nightmare.

Little or no dream recall is a sign of a vitamin B6 deficiency. Taking some B6 at night before bed can help increase dream recall. But taking B6 during the day also helps. The more active form, p-5-p, is also recommended when supplementing pyridoxine.

I don't need any vitamis I always clearly remember my dreams. Some are black and white. That's odd. Ever had that?

I wouldn't use a scientific definition for a nightmare, but I did wake up stunned. I've had real nightmares bofore but this was no regular one either. I mean I don't get killed and see someone commit suicide very often. lol. I've been killed in a dream before but I never saw anyone shoot themselves. Not a nightmare, but close to it

I can't speak for other peoples' experiences, but typically the "perfect" answer has a feeling about it in my gut. There's just this *feeling* of it being the right answer.

Would you clarify what you mean? It'll help me to answer your question as best I can.

I've just found that the process is most effective for me when I'm applying it to present situations rather than future ones.

It might just be the way my mind works - for me, the future requires accessing more than just the subconscious... it requires, foresight / intuition / predicting the future. Those are things which I'm not yet fully attuned to.

However, my present experience - my subconscious can work behind the scenes to put together information that is already available into a new way I didn't understand before.

That said, I do not discount the potential effectiveness of this approach for future situations for somebody who is well-attuned to predicting the future.

Probably only depends on who you ask.

Although one difference might be that even somebody who doesn't believe in any religion or higher being could accept that their mind can, behind the scenes, piece together readily available information for an answer that can be used in the present.

But when it comes to future situations, the difference is more about belief systems - "I believe God has a plan for me - and if I ask politely, maybe he'll tell me what it is" vs. "If I'm psychic, I can tap into the realm of infinite possibilities to know exactly what will happen"

Either way the root is the same: "I don't know the conscious answer, so hopefully something inside, outside, or all-encompassing will fill me in on the details."

Hi, Aliyah! I think I was reading your post in the social/relationships section, "Controlling Husband?" Can I ask, are these two posts related? 'Cause if you're dreaming that your husband killed you, GET THE HELL OUT!!!

Hypnotherapists use that question with clients. Phychics on the other hand might ask you what your inner guides are saying. You might find reading a book on self-hypnosis really interesting.

Yeah, they're related.
I didn't get killed by my husband. He was not in the dream at all. It was another man. But, my husband has a motorcyce and he was on that bike. Also it happened in the appartment that we lived in. So my husband was not in the dream, but the bike was his and the appartment we lived in. Those are the only 2 things related to him in the dream.

Oh, good. [I was worried about you!] It's probably symbolic, then, and it sounds like you're getting some good advice on both threads. Best of luck!
