Default Increasing IQ while having fun

I love this new program I've been using on the internet and thought I'd share the wealth...

This study was done about this site: MyBrainTrainer(TM) - Brain Exercises

"The Delos Institute, a research facility associated with the University of Texas and Open International University, conducted a month-long study using the internet-based MyBrainTrainer.com exercises and Pre/Post testing for IQ, cognitive efficiency and speed, and anxiety.

50 subjects were randomly assigned to either treatment groups or control groups. Treatment groups were required to complete 21 sessions of MyBrainTrainer.com exercises and take the pre/post evaluations, whereas the control group only took the pre/post evaluations.

Control and treatment groups averaged 14.5 years of education and 44 to 48 years of age.

IQ testing was conducted using the Virtual Knowledge computer program. The treatment group demonstrated a 9 point increase in IQ as compared to a 1 point increase for the control group, a statistically significant result.

Using the Integrated Visual and Auditory continuous performance test, similar changes were noted. The MyBrainTrainer.com treatment group demonstrated a 13% increase in cognitive efficiency and speed, whereas there was no change in the control subjects.

The State Trait Anxiety Inventory was used to measure anxiety and stress. The MyBrainTrainer.com treatment group demonstrated a 10 point reduction on the STAI scale, suggesting reduced anxiety and stress, while no change was noted in the control subjects.

All measures suggest a significance level of 1%--meaning that the odds of these results occurring by chance on any individual test is less than 1 in 100.

It is the conclusion of this pilot study that in this population, the MyBrainTrainer.com exercises increased IQ, reduced anxiety, and improved cognitive efficiency and speed, as measured by the specific testing instruments employed. Whether these improvements will be sustained once training has ceased, and whether such improvements transfer to real-world everyday function are questions that may be addressed in future studies.

Also, the site has daily, monthly and all time high scores, history of all your exercises, brain diary, increases your memory, more statistics than you could shake a stick at, is only ten dollars for four months, and the site is updated with new exercises and content.

Like I said, I love it and I know you guys are interested in personal development so I thought I'd show you. Also, if you refer someone you get a free extra month. Just imagine how much of a difference this would make if all our schools started implementing this program.

Thanks for the post, one of my goals is to get into Mensa but I'm about 4 points shy off the minimum requirement.

I've read that cognitive decline can be somewhat reversible by doing brain activities like this, so I wonder if these people's IQs were raised higher than what they were when they were kids or just somewhat near that level.

If you come to an forum to advertise your own service (since this is your only post you obviously are), at least be honest.

I have to wonder brutha, are you this untrusting of unconditional goodwill from everyone? This is a personal development forum, we come to celebrate in the effectiveness of all of us. If you carry around that scarcity mindset for long it will definitely hamper your relationships. It doesn't really matter to *me* if you believe me or not, but I'm guessing that the underlying reasons of your mistrust will affect you.

Also, if I was part of it, I would gladly mention I was part of such a great program and say so openly. Obviously I do benefit if many others join and spread the word because then programs like these proliferate and raise the awareness of society that much more each day. It is a win win situation *always* when I help others. I know I could have made great use of this program back when I was in highschool. The main thing is that it makes a difference and helps people, and that is part of my life's purpose and nobody can stop me from living my purpose.

I encourage you to look at the program without a bias and see whether it could help you or not without worrying about whether I am from this company or not. And it will definitely help you and I hope you check it out!

Love, peace and chicken grease,

ditto, one thing you also might want to try out to prevent cognitive decline and increase your memory and ability is Welcome to BrainBuilder.com - Train Your Brain! as it uses digit span exercises. These will help to develop your raw memory power. brain trainer has a couple memory exercises but they are working memory and immediate memory. Using both together is the best way to go about it. They're really quite beneficial but I just have a lot more trouble staying with it because it doesn't have the variety and it seems more like work than play for me. If you can stick with it you'll have amazing results, however. Digit span is very closely related to high intelligences and very high academic marks. I used it for a while, and will likely start using it again in the relative future. The more ways you feed your brain the better. Board games, strategy games, playing with friends, maths, schooling, puzzles and exercises like these will all make a positive difference.

One thing I find that helps me is to memorize little things regularly. Something I'm going to do soon is memorize a quote or scripture every single day. Zig Ziglar memorizes a new word with the definition and a new scripture every day and does this in about 6 minutes. He's had a lot of practice, but it goes to show that the practice pays off. Many memory champions started out with average memories and just practiced using their memories and developed better techniques for remembering. All memorization uses a technique whether we know it or not so if you develop better techniques you will be able to memorize things better.

No, there is no scarcity and therefore you have to rate a service like this and compare it to other services. And this is certainly not the only product which claims to have those results.
While the site is certainly interesting to check out, you posted a sales pitch. For that behavior I critizied you.

I have looked at the site, it has no demo mode to explore the service, while their is no reason for it to have no demo mode so I finished checking it out.

Unfortunatly, you have copy pasted their self advertisement instead of providing a link to study.
The main question of how much IQ the members of the group had after the program remains unanswered.
(Their are other products like Brainwave Entertainement and Imagestreaming which have got similar results for low IQ people)
So the question remains whether the programm healed some mental disease and doesn't do much to people without those mental diseases.
