So I was thinking about what challenge I wanted to take on next, from my list of 43 things. The raw diet has been going so well so far that I thought I'd bring something else in. Then I realised that it's exactly a week since I started the raw diet and committing to my new life of growth and change, so all of a sudden I realised that this could be a weekly thing. I'm calling it Weekly Beginnings for now, a way to bring good habits into your life on a regular basis without overwhelming you. Every week, pick an item that you've always wanted to conquer/work on, then commit to working on it for 4weeks/30days or longer. If you do a weekly plan, it's a perfect time to set aside time to work on this new goal/habit. This has me all inspired now, I'm looking forward to a lifetime of weekly 30 day trials. |

Hey cool! That's exactly what I've been doing for the last six weeks. I don't start 30 days trials, the new habit is open ended. I can continue forever, or drop it at any time if it doesn't serve me. But the thing with the weekly beginnings is the same. Every monday I start something, and then I have one week to practice before something new gets added. I love it! Good luck with your Weekly Beginnings, Parthon!!! It's great to see you all motivated |

Thanks Rose! Thanks fainaent! I need to get a cork board or a white board to put my goals on too. Having a visual guide to what's going on is a big help. Technically my first Weekly Beginning would be the Raw Diet I started last week. This week it's going to be exercising every day for at least 15 minutes. Yay! |

Hey, looks like you're kinda taking off Parthon For me personally, a visual guide is counter-productive. When I see my new habits written down, it turns me off. I guess I feel kinda sorta forced or caged then. I do better when I feel free. But that's just me. If it helps you, go for it. Maybe not breaking the chain would be a good idea for you? All the best to you. |
