Default Ten things!

Anyone seen Google's ten things? I thought it was a pretty outstanding idea myself! So I created one for myself, after a lot of work. After doing a lot of thinking about what I want and how I want to be, I've started thinking now that perhaps I need to stop thinking about all this stuff now and really work on applying it. Taking a step away from these kinda websites, cause if i could master all of this, things would be perfect!

Strength comes from having a clear set of beliefs that you're willing to fight for every day. If your causes are part of who you are, if they give you purpose, you never stop fighting. Dedication is staying committed to your cause whatever it may be. Commitment is continually keeping the standard as high as possible right the way through.

Plus it, if no wow, then no go.
Walt Disney coined the term "plussing" as a way of making an idea even better. By telling his animators to plus it, even when they think they had already nailed it. You don't stop. There's no reason to be satisfied, You can always do better, Can you make it simpler, more luxurious, bigger, bolder, quieter, more extreme? Constant improvement, add to it, make it better. Plussing is a dedication and obsession to the idea of constantly improving an idea.

Always be looking to improve, sometimes you have to be the part of you who is considered the downer of the party, always shooting holes in plans and ideas. But essential because you know how to spot the holes in the ship so you can fix them. Takes everything apart and rebuild it endlessly in the pursuit of greatness. Problems first, always ask What didn't go well so you can make it better? Life is about great things and great moments, the mantra has to always be "Make it great, Make it great, Make it great!"

You have to put your heart and soul into it. You have to care. As if it were worth a million pounds, cause really it is worth more than that, it is your life, playing small has it's price, your life. It is an unending intense
desire to do more and most of all, become more. Never settle for the best, great just isn't good enough.

Stay hungry, stay foolish
See an opportunity, think of a solution and plug everything together, without stopping to ask questions, without doing lots of risk analyst. Just take action, in taking action you are going to make mistakes, but every time you make a mistake don’t spend a lot of time thinking about what went wrong, looking at why, trying to fix it or try to figure it out. Just take that mistake turn it into a positive and move forward. Things get done by taking action, not by being cautious. The only way to do something, is to do it. There is no try, there is only do. Can’t figure out best way to implement? Do it both ways, figure out which way is better when you’re done.
It’s faster than “thinking” about which way is better. Don’t know what to write? Write anything. Lots of it. Then throw it away.

Have a vision and execute it, don’t stop to be careful along the way. It’s about doing great things overall, the bigger picture rather than the smaller steps along the way. This is an action orientated confidence, You have to dive into the deep end of the pool, weather you can swim or not! Have the ambition, take the risks and never have any regrets. You don't always need to have a precise, calculated reason for each step you take. If it just seems right, take a chance. Only people that are afraid of the water want to understand it. Other people jump in and get wet.

You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. No more excuses! If you truly want to be something, be it. Stop worrying about what you are trying to achieve and just start it. If you don't have the balls, you can't have the babies. Roll the dice, never look back and never think twice, because if your not risking it all, you might as well not play at all.

What you think about, talk about, and do something about is what comes about.
You have created everything that has happened in your life: both the good and the bad. It was easy. If your life sucks, it is because you suck. All you did was think, speak, and do. Thoughts are creative. Words are creative. Actions are creative. These are the three creative forces of the Universe. Master these and the world belongs to you.

I can not allow anything to come into my mind that will distract me from my goal or vision, what I want to do and what I enjoy. I Let that become my whole life, or else it is just a waste of time for me. I let the universe handle all the other details. Life is great! I do not worry about details or how something will happen, I simply focus on what I want from the end and nothing else. Living in my own head. Live and feel it as if you are already there so much so that you don't need or want it anymore because it already exists for you.

Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.
We are all from the same tribe, the same family. We are all we have. Life takes a greater meaning through the existence of others. Have you helped someone today besides yourself? Is anyone a little happier because I came along today? The greatest gift you can give someone is to make them smile. There is nothing worth more than to make someone smile.

There is no value in judging others poorly and no matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame them, it will not change you. There are no justified resentments. If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each life sorrow, suffering and a series of bad choices that are enough to disarm any hostility.

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted but if you give in order to receive you are merely trading. A true friend makes no requirement of anyone. We merely observe the actions and choices of others, we can not make demands upon that, but must allow everyone to function as they wish with no need from us to try and understand or influence. We are one family, but a true friend only focuses on there own actions.

Can you name 10 people who have won the noble prize, the five richest people in the world? the last dozen academy award winners for best actor and actress? or the people you like to spend time with, the few people that make you feel special and the last person that made you smile?

Bound, bound, bound, and rebound.
"Now sometimes you’re up and sometimes you’re down, When you find that you’re down well just look around You still got a body, good legs and fine feet, Get your head in the right place and hey, you’re complete!"

Anything that is successful is a series of mistakes, If you can't make a mistake, you can't make anything. it is only a failure if you decide to name it so. I will never give up. No means nothing. it doesn't matter how many people say no, only how many say yes. Never say die until your dead. Never give up, never.

In drilling for oil, you might hit 9 dry wells before you strike the gusher! You never know if success will come after 1 well, after 10, or—due to the way that statistics can work—after 20. Just keep drilling! And that means you have to be willing to keep failing.

Life does not change or pass away. Life goes on. Has there ever been a moment when you did not go on, when you did not get through even the direst crisis? Of course not.

Rule number 6, don't take yourself or life so seriously
Whatever you are doing there is a fun way to do it, if you take things to seriously you will forget to enjoy and have fun and that is what life is about. Be able to laugh at yourself, you won 't get out alive anyway!

Choose your attitude, Be a good finder
What will be, will be. My choice is simply do I want to make it better or do I want to make it worse? Everything that happens to me is either good or leads to that which is good, it is all the universe knows, I always look for the good in the world, I have unending enthusiasm. EVERYTHING is an opportunity.

There are only three types of business, your business, someone else's business and the universes business. Whose business is it if an earthquake happens? The universe's business. Whose business is it if your neighbor down the street has an ugly lawn? Your neighbor's business. Whose business is it if you are angry at your neighbor down the street because they have an ugly lawn? Your business.

Most people spend there life's looking to be offended, and they find them, there are no shortage of reasons if you look for them, as is there no shortage of reasons to be grateful, happy, excited or delighted, it all depends on how you choose to look at the world. If you change the way you look at things the things you look at change.

It's not the destination, it's the journey!
The journey in life is the reward. Life is the journey, When I get on the dance floor, my purpose in being on the dance floor is not to end up at another spot when the music stops. The purpose of the dance is to enjoy every step along the way. When I go to a music concert, I don't say, "My purpose is to get to the end and enjoy the finale." If that were the purpose, everybody would write finales and nothing more. The purpose of the concert is to enjoy each note as you go along.

Success is a by-product. To make it a goal is to set yourself up to lose the very thing you most want. Why? Because, if all you do is focus on being successful, you've taken your eyes of the very things that will get you to success: doing brilliant work, having outrageous amounts of fun, bringing value to others and being extraordinary as a human being. You'll be so worried/consumed with arriving at success that you'll never reach it. Devote your energy and talents to following your cause to the best of your ability. Do your best. Then Life does the rest.

All you have to do is decide what to do with the time you are given
Enjoy the moment, because that is all you have. You never are going to arrive someplace else. You are in a constant state of living in this moment, and that is the only arrival there is. The things in your life whatever they are friends, pets, lovers, money, external objects and life itself will all someday be gone. This day will also be gone and you will never get it back. Everything comes and goes, it is how we live the space in-between that counts. You can have the life you want, or you can have your excuses, it only costs your life.

What each of us is doing this minute is the most important event in history for us. We have decided to invest our resources in this opportunity rather than in any other. It is helpful to remember this when we consider the passage of time. There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension. One of these days is Yesterday, with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed; we cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone. The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow, with its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise, and poor performance. Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control. Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds; but it will rise. Until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow, for it is as yet unborn. This leaves only one day: Today. Today is a gift, tomorrow is never promised to you. Don't die with your music still in you.

Anyone can fight the battles of just one day. It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities -Yesterday and Tomorrow - that we break down. It is not the experience of Today that drives us mad, it is remorse and bitterness for something which happened Yesterday and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring. Let us therefore, live this one full day, today.

What does it mean to be a rock? A planet? A star? A wild animal? The wind or a tree? The meaning of each 'thing' lies in what it is, the way it exists. The meaning of a star is just that -- being a star. In this context, the meaning of life is exactly that -- being alive. There is a difference between living and being alive, live a full life everyday.

Be yourself, you can't be anyone else
I do not concern myself with being unique, and I do not concern myself with success. I feel I just do and say what I am supposed to, I do not know where it comes from and I just allow whatever it is to come out. It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation.

Be completely independent of the good opinion of other people, Who cares if someone else thinks it is worthwhile, right or wrong? it has nothing to do with them. Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

I love google, but I really dislike their activities on the stock market. I would argue they're going against their "Do no evil" rule, however I don't think most people care. They're printing money and duping idiots. And while I have little pity for greedy idiots, I do feel it to be unethical.

Google Corporate Information: Our Philosophy
I think google is being hypocritical with #4, #6, & #8.

Google censors content at the request of the government of the PRC ( People's Republic Of China ). As an example look at these two links that compare an image search about Tianammen Square done on Google America and one done in the censored version Google provides to China.

Tiananmen Square image search results: Google for America:
tiananmen - Google Image Search

Tiananmen Square image search results: Google for China ( censored by Google ):
tiananmen - Google ͼƬËÑË÷

For an alternative search engine that does not do this:
Clusty » About

As far as lists of values go, I think the shorter the better. It is too tough to keep ten things in mind as you go about your day....at least for me.

The question was whether Google wanted to go to China.
The Chinse Wall is these days a gigantic firewall that would slow down searches that would have to go through it.
Is your altanative search engine in China?

People like Aol are worse than google. In addition to censoring the information they send the Chinese goverment information about who searchs for those terms.
To play in the chinese market they had to make compromises.
Censoring is no good thing, but by staying out of China they would effectivly censor everything on google do to the big firewall.

Thumbs up Awesome

I have never seen this before but I love it. I would just add, love what you do and all of these things will follow. I see so many people doing things they don't love and it totally destroys effort and excitement in all of these ares.
When you love something you can focus on it with all your heart and it's just all goodness from their.

Thanks again for the post.
