Default Finding a Coach

I'm not sure if this is the right section for this, but lately I've been thinking about the idea of hiring a life coach. I'm very similar to Steve in that I am self-motivated and read a crapload of books and such, but I always wonder how much further along I could be if I had a coach on top of that.

I'm wondering if any of you have had a success coach of any kind before, and if so how did you like the process? Can anyone shed any light on this area of self development? Does anyone know a good place to find a good coach?

I'm mostly looking for someone online for online coaching via email, chat etc. with perhaps some sessions on the phone if needed, but not necessary, so the person doesn't have to be local to me physically speaking.

Cool Listen to this online radio show

I've haven't used an online coach but I do listen to online radio shows and podcasts by internet coaches.

Here is the url to a radio show I listen to online. It's called The Coaching Show. There are four links listed within the url for you to listen to.

Internet Talk Radio Shows

Here is the link for a success coach who has appeared on Oprah:

Dream Coach Marcia Wieder Motivational Speaker Seminars Life Coach

Also here is one of my favorite shows on the website:

Good luck!

Back to the topic on coaches, YES, a coach is a MUST at some point of your time.

I hired a business coach for my Internet businesses. He did a great job. Lots of sound advice, lots of exposure and lots of new learning experiences. I believe the experience would be the same for a life coach provided you get one that is good.

For some info on tips to getting a good coach, here's a report. Its a direct link to downloading the report. Look for the part on coaching.
Small report on coaching and Mastermind groups

I hope this helps

Didn't we have a life coach in this forum itself who blogs at his life coaching blog?

But of course, distance can be an issue. Talk about LDRs ha!

Paul,

I'm a coach and I've a coach, and my coach has a coach.

I've worked with my coach - sayyesindex - for about 6 months now, and we're nearing the end of our coaching relationship and it was worth the time and money ten fold.

I'm planning to wirte up a detailed post on what my coach did for me but I want to wait until the formal relationship has ended first.

If you go to coachfederation.org there's a coach finding tool there that helps you narrow your coach down by keywords and criteria, it might help.

Best of luck with it,
Colm

I have a great coach. Used www.findyourcoach.com and was very satisfied with the service.

Yes, I'm here...and a little far

I'd say play by ear, you need to talk to your coach beforehand and feel if this person is someone you'd work with, and ask to see their track record (I can teach you how to mindmap but Kloudiia's the gal to go to for your relationship boost )

Hi Paul, thought you might find this other discussion on coaching useful.
