Default Vision boards....a question

Greetings,

I have a question. I have been reading up a little about vision boards and was wondering if other members have either had more informaiton about them, or what was their personal experiences with one. Did it work for them? Are they still using one and did they get dramatic results in their lives?

Regards

Gordon

Vision boards are a great idea. Make sure to have a vivid picture of the goal. Whether its a car, a house, an affirmation, a goal, make sure you stamp a date on it by which it is to be acquired and accomplished. Make sure it is in a place where you could see it often. Make sure you make a daily habit of looking over it instead of letting it become background furniture that you walk by.

Make sure, that like any goal it is realistic. You wouldn't put a picture of the trump towers with your name on it and date is for 6 months from now.

Some people will say that the vision board will help you manifest whatever you want. Another way to think about it is, if you really want that car and it's $40,000 out of your price range, you'll have a daily reminder of how much harder/smarter you'll have to earn to get it by the due date. Use the approach that seems most practical to you.

Lastly and most importantly. Have a fun time with the vision board, be very creative and use your imagination. Your vision board is a realistic look at your goals and desires, so carefully about what you want, cause you will get it.

Take a look at my vision board article.

This is a good suggestion to review the board daily, but you can make the exercise more efficient by reviewing it at certain times each day-- upon waking and before bed are the best times, when the subconscious mind is more open and accessible. Before bed is an especially powerful time-- often your mind will incorporate those things into your dreams and help project you forward into those scenes with whatever you wish to have.

Another method is to simply save digital photos of the desired in a folder on your computer and review them like a slideshow in the morning and night. This can help streamline the vision images, especially if you travel a lot, so you don't have to carry around vision board, and the images are a bit more 'plastic' -- you can turn them over at the season or whenver you accomplish a goal, and you have access to a wider range of images than just magazine clippings, etc.

Good luck to you!!

Athena, that slide show idea is great. I wish I thought about it when I was travelling.

Thank you for the replies so far. I hope I get more...they are very helpful and affirming.

Oddly enough the slideshow thing is what I already do. About twice a day when I am sitting at my laptop with a nice latte...I run my slideshow.

I am taking on board the comments about realistic views as well. Much as we would like a bigger business to play with, steady growth is more realistic.

Thanks again.

After reading about vision boards a while back I decided to give them a try and drew 3 different boards up with some colored pencils. I made a short term, medium term and long term board and stuck them on my bedroom wall so I could see them daily. I never meditated on them, I only ever looked at them in passing and after a while I barely noticed they were even there any more until one day a few months later when I realized I had manifested everything on my short term vision board and a few things on my medium board and was on the way to realizing some of my long term goals.

I did the same thing with written intentions on a piece of paper. I set 20 intentions and after writing them out I put them in a folder and filed them in my office at work and forgot about them altogether until almost 6 months later and was blown away that most of my intentions had manifested and I only looked at that sheet of paper about 2-3 times on the day I wrote them out before I filed it.

It's almost like magic and it takes no work at all after you have made the boards.

Happy visions,
John

^ Awesome!!

With the colored pencils, did you draw any pictures on the short-term, medium and long term? Or did you cut out pictures from magazines or gathered from other sources?

I am not a very good artist but I drew the pictures of what I wanted to manifest with the colored pencils on all 3 boards and drew a big golden and red sun at the top of each board so the suns light energy would shine down on my goals and they would manifest quicker.

Hello Gordon.
I have actually been using vision boards for a long time now. And frankly, it has given me very good results. Actually, in my point of view, vision boards are not stagnant. As you grow older you realize that you gain more knowledge and perhaps have reached some of the goals in your vision board, so you can now add more pictures of what you believe is your new vision, either a step ahead or for the maintenance of what you already have now.
If you have any more questions, just let me know. I will be very glad to help.

Gordon,

I am currently making a significant transition from military officer of 13 years to a more entrepreneurial lifestyle of my own design. I am currently putting together a new vision board as a way of determining what my lifestyle design looks like.

My method is to get a stack of old magazines and go through them cutting out images which resonate with me and the goal/lifestyle that I am creating. Once I've got what I think is enough I then paste them onto a sheet of paper and display it in a location which I see multiple times each day. You can then also continue to build your vision board using quotes, affirmations, inspiration cards etc.

I have recently written a post on my website about how to create and use vision boards to define and picture your lifestyle design. In this post I have included a picture of my wife's current lifestyle design vision board which is a good example of someone who has been progressively adding to it. You can read my post here if you are interested.

Hey Stevethevisionboardguy,

I like how you and some of the others mention that it's an ongoing thing. Adding pictures as life changes and vision gets bigger.

Question if you don't mind,
Do you think that the creation of your V board accelerated your attaining of your visions?

Hey Gordon,

Are Members still using Vision Boards?
I do... I created a visual asset and liablity worksheet. It shows how much money I want to generate and where exactly do I spend it. I account for every penny, and I tweak and adjust as my life style preferrence changes.

Did it work for me?
My intention for created a vision board was to of course achieve what I envisioned. But I'm my non experience days I depended on vision boards to attract that thing to me directly.

But instead what I attracted was idea's and action steps to get me there :-). So in that regards if it works for me... Absolutely I'm confident to say that I know exactly what step to take to attain my vision

Did I get Dramatic Results?
Nope :-( Like I said earlier, when I didnt quite understand I depended on vision boards to be the Difference maker from failure to Success. I've learned that it was a combination of my vision board with taking action on the ideas that come to me.

BUT... Now

Now I can say that I've acccomplished things within my affirmations statements that I use as my vision board. and to someone that has achieve failure and then within a couple of weeks begin manifesting is a huge accomplishment.

Hope that helps.

i have never actually started a vision board but i do know that people take things from magazines, websites etc and stick it in places where they can see them and it helps motivate people to success.

They key thing you have to ask yourself is, is the vision board motivating you to take action because if you all you are doing each day is looking for more pictures and not taking the correct action, you will be left behind.

Try it and see how it works...
