I realized something profound for me yesterday. I always knew I had this little complainer inside my head, always popping out whenever I had my guard down. Yesterday, however, I was listening to a subliminal CD and cleaning (I have a lot more energy to clean now that my apnea is possibly cured.) when suddenly, I said to myself "What is... IS." I started repeating this over and over and you know what? The little complainer had nothing to complain about! So, he let me be free to focus on what to do instead of what was wrong. I'd like to ask everyone to try and monitor yourselves and everytime you catch yourself complaining, say "What is... IS." and see what that does for you. I'm really interested if it works for other people. Let me know! Thanks! |

That's a wonderful mantra, Dannyboy. I also like the buzziness of it -- how the zzzz in is, is hypnotically soothes the brain and the soul, even said silently within the bones of your head. Like poetry. And I'm so glad your apnea is cured! With that machine? Did it work right away? Do you have to keep using it forever? You do seem more at ease lately. I'm so glad you are feeling better. |

This "method" is one of the few that work really well for me. This one is so basic, so true, you just now its right. For me at least. Another member recently said something along the same line: "By embracing life the way it is, we flow with it and feel at ease. By resisting, we create our own unhappiness." I totally dig it! |

Hi, Thanks for the tip. I will definitely try this. I do however wonder, what could be the entrepreneurial implications of this or how it may stop a lot of positive changes from taking place. A lot of the time, when you are not happy with "What is", it encourages you to try and change it, come up with alternative solutions and bring change, that makes the future brighter. It leads to new product development, which may be inspired by the vision of "what should be" However, I am completely for "living in the present" but I just wonder, how to best use this mantra, without it effecting innovation/creativity. |

Good point meamaximaculpa. Im thinking regularly about that too. "It is", is just the first step. It puts you in a state of calm and gives more clarity. It doesnt change your situation though. Step two, to change(I think to plan is more appropriate), needs an other approach. Being in this state of calm prevents hastly wanting to make decisions and the stress that comes with it. When in this state you are more with and for yourself. When the time is right, maybe after a day or a week it may become much more clear as to what action to undertake.

Hi Danny Have you heard of The Acceptance Paradox. It's a principal that turns up in therapy techniques and eastern philosophy /spirituality ? http://home.scarlet.be/~janson01/PDF...#37;20Laws.pdf |
