Question Making the most of your mobile phone

How do you get the most out of your mobile phone?

I'll be upgrading to a new phone next month I am trying to decide what to get. Consequently I would like to know what features benefit you most and how to make the most out of a phone?

So what should I look for? (I'll be a junior software consultant but I'm more interested in using it for life)

Any model recommendations?

Sidekick LX. It's simply perfect for keeping notes and tasks and everything... just perfect. CHECK IT OUT! I love mine. Keeps me productive.

What provider do you have?

I just picked up a VX8550, the new version of the Chocolate from Verizon. Great phone overall. Featurewise, I tend to look for a good camera, music player, calendar, note-taking and gps navigation. You may also want to consider web-browsing and e-mail if that is important to you.

I'm currently on vodafone but want to change to 3 as that seems to be where most of the people I know are.

I got me a shiny phone with a keyboard and its probably the most awesome thing in the world ever with the possibly exception of bacon.

the ability to write down the random ideas I have while wandering out in the real world and to keep pretty much everything I write on the desktop on it in case I want to look something up is great. Using the little dial pad keypads to try and type notes just didn't cut it for me.

personally I like being able to use it as an mp3 player and depending on how much you're willing to pay theres some really decent camera phones out there and great mobile internet capabilities. Also being able to sync your calendar to your phone and vice versa can be handy

I've been thinking it would be nice to have a keyboard and a touch screen (been looking at a HTC phone).

But then I have a small notepad and pencil which rules for taking down quick notes.

Internet access I think I would find useful but the rest is a tradeoff. Hmmm... thanks guys.
