| Sunday afternoon I finally handed in the final version of a video editing project that has been an albatross around my neck for almost two years. YES!!! I have been looking forward to getting this finished so that I could work on the project I really want to do -- a rewrite of my online flashcards. But now that the obstacle is overcome, I don't want to work on it. I'm scared that I'm not a good enough programmer, that it won't turn out how I want, overwhelmed by the scale of the project, afraid that no one will use it, it will all just be a huge waste of time, etc, etc. My plan is to keep doing visualizations of things that excite me about the project -- an income stream that I can generate from any location, a fun learning tool to use with my kids, other people thanking me because they found my work valuable, developing better programming skills. I think that I'll be ready to start in a day or two. I just find it really funny how blocked I feel right now, considering how much I have been looking forward to finishing the last project and starting on this one.

| Sounds like you got hit by a big can of fear, as we all do with new projects of any significance. Along with your visulisations you probably want to make a plan. Given that you just finished a 2 year project you probably already know how to go about a plan, congrats by the way. It's not easy doing long projects. Also you could pick some tiny activities that will contribute towards the bigger goal and do those now. I would just start with something small, even starting to write a plan is a start.
