| Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum, I hope I'm asking this in the right place. I've been trying to learn PhotoReading for a while, but one of the things that holds me back is that I'm unable to see the cocktail weenie effect. Now I tried achieving the same result with magic eye pictures, since in order to see the 3D image, you have to diverge your eyes. So far I had no success with that either. I checked various Magic Eye explanations on the net, but none helped me to see the 3D picture. Do you guys have any tips/suggestions how to do this? I hope I wasn't confusing with my explanation, every reply is appreciated. |

| The easiest way for me is to focus on something beyond the target. To see the cocktail weenie, put your hands in front of your face, but focus your eyes on your computer monitor. While keeping your eyes on the monitor, bring your attention to your fingers. You should notice some ghosting there. Basically the effect comes from shifting your attention to an object that's closer than what your eyes are focused on.

| Do you wear corrective lenses? I do, and I can't see those 3D Magic Eye things unless I take them off. I don't know if that helps with PhotoReading.

| I'll say that I've been playing with my focus for many years, but I never knew what I was doing. I just knew I was having fun! Find yourself a line of sight where you can see several objects at different distances. Look at one, then the next, then the next etc. Really be aware of the sharpness of the object. Look for little details. This tends to 'stretch' my eyes. Now try to focus on one object and then, very carefully, move your head until what you're looking at is a closer object. This works well if you're focusing on background with something in the middle, eg, a lightpole with a background of houses or trees. The near object should be all blurry. Now blink if you need to and focus on the near object. The background should be all blurry, but you should still be able to see it. A word of warning: don't do this for too long at one time, it can really make your eyes sore! When I do this I tend to not blink enough so my eyes get dry, so make sure you blink several times when you're done. Now I have to work on being able to focus on all the corners of the page! I can see the blip page, no problem. Problem is that I look at it, not at the whole book! Wolverine |

| Wow, thanks for the quick replies! I'll try these things out during the day & post what I experienced. The Cloud: "Do you wear corrective lenses?" - I wear glasses, but no contact lenses or anything like that. As far as I know, wearing glasses shouldn't interfere with seeing the blip page/3D image. BTW, I would photoread mainly ebooks on the computer monitor. There's no blip page there, right? I tried noticing the four corners of the screen like with the page of a book, but no success yet. I'll keep on trying. |
